As many fans can recall, Steve announced earlier this year that he was pulling back from his duties at General Hospital to spend more time with his wife, Michelle Lundstrom, and their family at home.

Earlier in February, Steve said, “Hey everyone, I wanted to share that I’ll be taking a short break from General Hospital. I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family. I’m grateful for all the support and will be back this summer.”

If that weren’t enough, he also said, “I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family. I’m grateful for all the support and will be back this summer.”

And while the actor did state that he would be coming back some time during the summer, he didn’t specify as to when he would be coming back at all.

This has made a lot of fans wonder if Steve is holding out in the hopes that he can negotiate his contract for better pay or if something else might be going on behind the scenes.

What’s Really Going On With Steve Burton?

And while it’s been reported that Steve will return to the daytime television show sometime during the summer, a lot of fans are unsure if that’s going to happen at all.

That’s because it seems like both Steve and Michelle have a new project that they are working on together.

In addition to his acting, Steve is also a fitness and lifestyle coach and that’s a role that he takes very seriously. In fact, a week doesn’t go by that he’s not trying to encourage his fans to join his program.

However, a lot of General Hospital fans believe that Steve isn’t just taking a break from the soap.

There’s also a good chance that this might be part of his soft exit as he might be looking to step away from the daytime television world altogether.
