General Hospital spoilers note that it’s been an explosive few days in the land of Port Charles! From Marco Rios’ (Adrian Anchondo) stabbing to Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) shooting WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), it’s been a rollercoaster ride for those in Port Charles, and fans, too!
Still, one of the most shocking developments is the unspoken bromance that could be developing between two unlikely characters. More on this, below!
Nathan West – Quick On His Feet
After Rocco shockingly shot Rocco, General Hospital fans could see the wheels turning in Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) head. PCPD cop, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), quickly showed up on the scene, and in an instant, deduced what had happened.
Without even blinking an eye, Nathan gave Jason the heads up that the police cruisers were about two minutes away.
Rocco was quickly ushered away by Nathan, taking the boy quickly to his mom, Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) home, while also running down what Rocco and Lulu should do and say next.
Ryan Paevey recently sat down with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) to talk about Nathan’s motives surrounding the Rocco cover-up and Nathan’s potentially new “bromance” with Jason.
Nathan’s Motives
While Rocco and Nathan aren’t family, they are highly connected. It’s hard to ignore that Nathan’s sister, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), carried Rocco and delivered him into the world.
He also happens to be best friends with Rocco’s dad, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna); however, Paevey tells SOD that Nathan’s new romance with Lulu was the cop’s motivation behind helping Rocco.
In terms of Nathan “working” with Jason, as the two aren’t exactly friends and both play on opposite sides of the law, Paevey notes that, “There is some sort of trust or bond or agreement between them, where they know [the other] knows what to do.”
He goes on to say, “Very little is spoken between us at all, but there does seem to be an understanding between the two of them.”
It’s All About The Kids
In addition, Paevey tells SOD, “We both kind of live in this world of guns and fights and things like that. We understand there’s a sort of rule or a code of conduct here, you know? Like ‘Kids are off the menu. You take care of each other’s children.”
The actor continues with, “We can fight, but I’m not gonna shoot your son.’ The converse of that is true as well; all it takes between two gentlemen who live in this world and live by these rules is, ‘Look, we’ve got to get the kid out of here. The rest of this is a problem, but get the kid out and then we’ll set about dealing with it.’”
Jason is on his way off canvas for a short break as Steve Burton spends time with his family and other projects, but could he and Nathan become new besties upon the henchman’s return?
