General Hospital spoilers and updates indicate that a winter storm has necessitated a shift in plans at the studio, leading us to share some important news regarding cast changes. Due to the severe weather conditions and the subsequent transportation challenges, a GH actor had to be substituted for several crucial scenes.

Daniel Cosgrove’s Flight Was Canceled Due To The Huge Winter Storm

According to Soap Opera Digest, Daniel Cosgrove, who portrays Ezra Boyle, found himself stranded on the East Coast when he was scheduled to film back in January.

His flight was unfortunately canceled due to the arrival of the winter storm we previously mentioned, preventing him from reaching Los Angeles in time. Consequently, the show had to implement an emergency recast to fill in for Ezra for a few episodes.

Patrick Scott Lewis has been selected as the new, albeit temporary, Ezra, so viewers should prepare for a slightly different portrayal of the character on March 2 and March 16.

Interestingly, this isn’t Lewis’ first experience with the show, as he has previously made a guest appearance on the ABC soap.

Patrick Scott Lewis Previously Portrayed Mr. Thomas

In December 2024, Lewis took on the role of Mr. Thomas, who interrupted Kai Taylor’s (Jens Austin Astrup) conversation with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) to seize a photo opportunity featuring his son alongside the talented PCU football star.

You may also recognize Patrick Scott Lewis from his various roles in productions such as Monster: The Ed Gein Story, Vanished in Death Valley, Elkhorn, Castle, Cold Case, and many others.

As for what viewers can expect in Lewis’ debut episode as Ezra, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) will begin to see her adversary from a fresh perspective.

Ezra has already hinted that they share similar struggles and mentioned that he became too involved with Sidwell before fully grasping the extent of the peril he was in.

Audiences might hear Ezra delve deeper into this situation and possibly admit that he is not the person he aspires to be. Up Until Now, Ezra Has Been Portrayed As A Sleazeball

Up until now, Ezra has primarily been portrayed as a self-centered sleazeball, so the series is making an effort to add some complexity to his character.

It’s possible that his encounters with Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) served as a means to deal with his feelings of isolation and the terrible actions Sidwell continually coerces him into committing.

Regardless of the circumstances, General Hospital spoilers indicate that on March 2, Ezra will open up to Laura, allowing her to witness a more authentic side of him while Patrick Scott Lewis temporarily steps into the role.

Perhaps Ezra’s just as upset with having to bow down to Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) as Laura is, and may reveal that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was as well. Be sure to watch to see what Laura finds out about Ezra’s softer side.
