General Hospital Quietly Replaces Jon Lindstrom’s Character

The residents of Port Charles have visited Dr. Kevin Collins for all of their mental health needs for decades on General Hospital.

Jon Lindstrom joined the cast of the ABC soap opera as the popular doc back in 1992, but he’s been noticeably missing in current storylines.  In fact, the hospital even replaced him with a new psychiatrist.

GH Introduces New Doctor

General Hospital introduced a new doctor on the soap this week.  Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is in the middle of a mental health crisis and could even go away to prison for trying to kill Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).

But, Kevin Collins is missing in action.  So, Anna will have to see a different psychiatrist at GH.

According to General Hospital comings and goings for September, Anna’s new doctor will be introduced as Dr. Nichols.

The role will be played by soap opera alum Kearran Giovanni.  The popular actress appeared on now canceled soap One Life To Live from 2009 – 2012.  Ironically, Kearran Giovanni also played a doctor on that show!

Where Is Jon Lindstrom

If it seems like ages since you last saw Jon Lindstrom on General Hospital, then you aren’t mistaken.  In fact, Dr. Kevin Collins hasn’t appeared on any episodes of the daytime soap since January 2026!

The actor has been busy filming scenes for Beyond The Gates and starring as Joey on the CBS show.

When Lindstrom joined the Beyond The Gates cast, he reassured fans that it wouldn’t affect his schedule at GH.

But, we haven’t seen his character in almost 10 months!  Now, he’s not even there to give his friend Anna Devane the medical treatment and care that she desperately needs.  Instead, Dr. Collins seems to be replaced at the hospital by newcomer Dr. Nichols.
