General Hospital Adds Familiar Face To CastGeneral Hospital spoilers say there will be a new character arriving in Port Charles on Thursday, July 2.

John Oliver announced on the newest episode of his HBO talk show “Last Week Tonight” that he would be appearing on the hit ABC soap opera.

John Oliver Debuts

General Hospital confirmed the comedian’s guest role with an official press release from ABC.  John Oliver will appear in three episodes of the daytime soap, starting on July 2nd.

The “Last Week Tonight” host will return on Friday July 3rd and complete his stint on Monday July 6.

On the June 28 episode of his HBO talk show, John Oliver shared an action shot of himself that he filmed while shooting for the sudser.

Talk Show Host Teases New Role

On “Last Week Tonight,” Oliver teased “I’m not going to spoil anything.  Yes, that is me surrounded by men with guns, and yes, my hair has been dipped in an inkwell. And if you can’t tell from my face there, I’m acting really hard.”

General Hospital showrunner Frank Valentini also previewed John Oliver’s role in a recent statement.  Valentini says that Oliver might just be playing a guest part, but he’s a huge part of an upcoming storyline.

John Oliver is actually pulling double soap duty.  The late night host also filmed some scenes for Peacock’s Days Of Our Lives, and will be popping up in Salem later this summer.  His air dates are scheduled for episodes streaming August 12 – 14, 2026.

There’s a LOT happening in Port Charles right now, but general consensus on the web is Oliver’s character will have something to do with Cullum and the WSB.  He might even be the mysterious “Z.”
