The perplexing missing person story of retired Air Force Major General William Neil McCasland probably caught your eye recently. Probably because it seems very strange, but here’s a bizarre addition to the story that makes the whole thing even stranger. Read on for more details.
More Than 1 Missing Person
Whether the case of the general turns into a true crime or not, waits to be seen. But either there’s something extremely odd going on, or coincidences can seem very bizarre. Another expert also went missing, and her name was Monica Reza.
The tie-in with McCasland lies in their careers. Notably, they both worked on high-level projects commonly termed “Black Projects” or “Black Ops.”

This week, when NewsNation did their follow-up about it, they talked more about the missing woman. Elizabeth Vargas introduced the fact that Monica Reza, an “aerospace engineer,” disappeared about nine months ago. And she worked with McCasland. Plus, her disappearance seems eerily similar.
Specialist Work
During the episode on YouTube, Alex Capriello reported for the outlet from Albuquerque, New Mexico. During his report, he mentioned that Reza “developed a special metal that was used in rockets.”
According to his research, the rocket project, “US government funded… was overseen by the general.”

Now, within a year both the specialist and the expert boss “essentially vanished off the face of the earth.”
Similar Vanishing Stories
When Monica Reza disappeared, like William Neil McCasland, it involved going for a hike. In her case, she and a companion went out in the Los Angeles forested area. As Capriello explained it, “everything seemed normal that day.”
The person with her noted that she trailed him by “about 30 feet.” In fact, she seemed happy, not at all stressed, and hiked along, “smiling and waving.” Her companion then turned away to look ahead, but when he turned back, “she was just completely gone.”
Clearly alarmed, the missing person case was called in and days of intensive searching took place. However, Monica apparently disappeared without a trace. Notably, those search and rescue teams “never recovered her body.”
A Sort Of Jigaw Puzzle?
In the case of Gen. William McCasland, investigators recently mentioned “a silver alert.” The reason for that, which NewsNation replayed, stemmed from “some sort of brain fog.” Interestingly, that came right before his disappearance, and was mentioned by a “repair man.”
But most importantly, law enforcement clarified that he suffered from no cognitive decline. In other words, he still had all his marbles. In fact, they described him as someone who “would still be the most intelligent person in the room.”
Explaining further, it certainly seemed that the older man from the Air Force was “highly intelligent” and “highly capable.” Look, many people talk about intelligence as being very clever, and he certainly was. With a brilliant mind and involved in Black Ops, he and Reza seemed well matched in their careers.
Despite the similarities between the two missing people, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department didn’t mention whether they investigate an actual connection between the two vanished experts. However, it seems way too hard to ignore it as a coincidence.
UFOs & Special Metals
When we reported the disappearance of Gen. William McCasland, mention was made about his highly secretive work. With both of them involved in work with special metals and aerospace engineering, it certainly sets some red flags flying for those folks interested in true crime and in Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, AKA UFOs.
Additionally, it all ties into the movement behind upcoming UFO disclosure. Notably, McCasland’s work involved “a highly classified program linked to UFO research.” So, Monica Reza’s disappearance only adds a ton of speculation to the connections.
Naturally, people already speculated “that secretive work” and “researching UFOs could have made him a target somehow.” Now, it seems that potentially, Monica Reza’s work related to UFO materials.
Silence Breeds Theories
Obviously, with both of them connected at high levels with aerospace and classified projects, there’s some frustration with the limited reporting about them. In fact, it all seems way too low-key.
Right now, it’s anyone’s guess whether either or both of them ended up abducted by international intelligence organizations. Of course, other theories suggest it’s a “warning to whistleblowers” to stay silent on sensitive government work.

In the comments section on YouTube, many interested people chimed in with their thoughts about Monica Reza and the retired General. One of them opined, “Working for the government on secret projects is like signing your own death warrant!!”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- They knew too much. Yet another ‘missing’ person. Too many ‘suicides’ and ‘missing’ people. Something way bigger going on.
- Just more and more bizarre.
- In the US, hundreds of people vanish without a trace each year while hiking. Still, what are the odds that 2 would be connected professionally and disappear within months of reach other, and both under mysterious/suspicious circumstances?
