Tough Time Ahead For The Carters

A rough time is coming for the Carters, as Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) confesses to Elaine (Harriet Thorpe) that she could have prevented Tim Walton’s (Tom Ratcliffe) ‘test’ on Callum Highway (Tony Clay).

Elaine thinks the best course of action is to remain silent – but she ignores this advice and chooses to tell Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) the truth. He is angry with her for getting involved, and even more upset when she confronts Tim at his office.

Johnny kicks her out, then reluctantly agrees to have a drink with his shady investor. He wants to keep him happy, but things take a turn for the worse when Callum sees them together.

Max Strikes Back!

Frustrated by her son’s situation, Linda confides in Max Branning (Jake Wood) about what’s happening-and he decides to take action by pretending to be Tim’s taxi driver.

She quickly informs Johnny about this, but he claims he has more important issues to deal with and needs to focus on his relationship with Callum.

Callum is angry but feels guilty when Johnny tries to explain that he was only trying to protect him and Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown).

Meanwhile, Max makes it clear that Tim should never return to Walford. What has he done, and will this finally resolve Johnny and Callum’s problems?

Nigel Wants To See Clare After His Near-Death Experience

Following Nigel Bates’ brush with death, Julie Bates (Karen Henthorn) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) realized they needed to explore alternative care options.

She feels relieved to learn that a spot in a care home has opened up for when he’s ready to leave the hospital. Yet, they face another significant decision when he expresses a desire to see his estranged stepdaughter, Clare.

The two have been apart for years, ever since he disapproved of her reckless behavior as she transitioned into adulthood. Phil believes she should be informed about his young-onset dementia, but Julie has her doubts.

Lexi Persuades Julie To Call Clare To Come

However, when Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown) learns about the situation, she makes a heartfelt appeal that persuades Julie to make the tough phone call.

The following day, as Clare arrives in Walford, she reconnects with her old friend Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) before heading to the Mitchell home.

The atmosphere is thick with tension between Julie and Clare, and Phil firmly states that they cannot bring their personal issues into the hospital. She feels a jolt of shock seeing him appear so delicate, and her heart sinks when he doesn’t recognize her.

Lexi Encourages Clare To Reconcile With Her Dad

Later on, Clare finds encouragement from Lexi, who pushes her to reconcile with Nigel while there’s still time.

They both agree to discharge him from the hospital, a decision that infuriates Julie, and bring him back to The Vic for a special celebration in his honor.

Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) and Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) are busy organizing the event, with the community coming together to give him a heartfelt welcome.

Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) shares some sage advice with Julie and Phil as they prepare for Nigel’s significant life transition.

After a lovely evening, Phil, Julie, and Clare escort Nige’ to his new residence, and the weight of the situation starts to dawn on them.

Ravi Worries

Meanwhile, Ravi is worried about Mark Fowler (Stephen Aaron-Sipple). After Ravi’s mental health episode, Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan-Levy) tries to comfort their children, Davinder “Nugget” Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) and Avani Gulati (Aaliyah James), assuring them that he will be fine.

Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) is worried about his ability to keep doing the informant work, but he insists he can manage it.

However, when he finds out that the police are planning a sting operation to take down lower-level members of the drug gang, Ravi becomes anxious about Mark’s freedom.

Priya Tells Ravi To Stay Out Of It

Priya insists that he should stay out of it, even if Mark gets arrested, but he can’t help but meet up for a drink with his new friend and share everything.

When Priya shows up, he hesitates and stops himself. She warns him that if he gets involved, he will lose everything.

As the week progresses, they continue to disagree about whether to warn Mark. Meanwhile, Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) asks her brother to take her out, but he tells her she needs to finish her job first.

Patrick’s Family Worries He’s Becoming Addicted To AI Anthony

During Christmas, Patrick was overwhelmed with guilt following the death of his son Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey).

Just hours earlier, he had wished it was him who had died instead of his eldest son Paul Trueman (Gary Beadle). Young Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) attempted to cope with his sorrow by creating an AI version of Anthony, which initially terrified Patrick.

However, in future scenes, Patrick is becoming more dependent on this technology, causing concern for Yolande about her husband.

Howie notices the impact AI Anthony is having on those around him and visits the Trueman family, hoping Patrick will share his feelings.

Howie’s Hungry For Romance

In December, Howie was criticized by the Trueman family for blackmailing Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) to get Patrick’s betting winnings.

Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) threw him out, and he disappeared-until Anthony’s funeral, where he showed up to offer condolences.

Next week, he wants to win Kim back and is happy when she shares her worries about Patrick; after talking to Patrick, he’s surprised by his warm welcome.
