Many true crime followers hoped that the children of the ‘Utah Doomsday Mom’ would be cleared to return stateside soon. Well, that is happening. However, there’s more to it and the story’s not over yet. Read on for more details.
Fighting To Get The Kids Home
Elleshia Anne Seymour, sometimes referred to as Allicia in the media and on social media, was traced thanks to the help of a Croatian teen. He checked out the names of the family and discovered that the mother was wanted in the USA for kidnapping the kids. Well, that’s a part of the ongoing story.

True crime fans heard that the father of three of the four kids, (Landon, Levi, Hazel, and Jacob) and their aunt, went to Croatia to try and get the kids out of an orphanage. However, it seemed to take forever and involved lots of paperwork. Allegedly, the conditions seemed just too awful. So dad, Kendall Seymour vented his frustration.
Cleared To Return
On January 31, KUTV 2 News Salt Lake City reported the happy news that the children are now free to return. But during her report on YouTube, KUTV’s correspondent talked about a fifth child. Could it be the teen who helped them find the family? According to a GoFundMe, the family fundraiser included that person. Perhaps, in time, that will happen.

Aside from that, ‘Doomsday Mom’ Elleshia Anne Seymour, AKA Alicia, remains in Croatia. While it took time to get the kids back with loads of diplomatic negotiations, so far the mom isn’t back to face the music.
The Mom’s Case Continues
While she faces four felony counts of custodial interference back in Salt Lake County, she might also face charges in Croatia. In fact, her extradition process could likely stretch into many more weeks or months.
Naturally, plenty of people hope she ends up convicted and that she does jail time for putting her kids through hell. However, that might not happen as she seemed “bat-shit crazy,” according to one follower’s opinion. Perhaps she tries getting off on psychological grounds. But, time will tell.
As a reminder, followers on Twitter heard Elleshia Anne Seymour talk about the end of the world as we know it. Notably, it wasn’t just going to be worldwide apocalypse but in Utah, she predicted a particular bloody and harsh end: hence the media dubbing her the ‘Utah Doomsday Mom’.
Reactions To The News
For now, it seems that most people just feel a lot of relief that the kids come home. One of them wrote in the comments, “Yay!! I’m happy to see a positive conclusion. That poor father. The mother needs serious intervention and psychiatric help!”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion:
- This needs to be a series, because she (Mrs. Seymour,) is in good company with Lori Daybell, Kouri Richins, Ruby Franke, there must be something in the water over there in Utah.smh.
- He’s gonna kill them. She fled for their lives. People don’t just do that.
- Yes! Excellent outcome.
- Thank God, those children are going home. I hope they live the best lives that they can.
