Of course, Philip has been a little tied up lately since he has been trying to save the family home and business.
Philip hasn’t exactly come face to face with the guy who recently tried to mug Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis). Could this be his son?
Key Takeaways
- Philip gave up his biological son in 2007
- His son’s return has been teased
- Mason appears to be around the right age
- Mason’s interest in Holly raises questions
- A Kiriakis connection could explain his arrival
Philip Kiriakis Learns He Has A Son
Philip’s son was born in 2007 and was actually the product of a switch ordered by EJ Dimera (Dan Feuerriegel) performed by Patrick Lockhart (Brody Hutzler).
This was supposed to have been the child of Mimi Lockhart (Farrah Fath) and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer).
Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) bribed the surrogate to keep the baby after papers were signed to grant the abortion.
Philip had no idea that the child had been carried to term until the surrogate started harassing him for money.
Philip decided to track the baby down, but found the surrogate, who no longer had the child with her. Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) ended up taking him in as a foster child.
Philip Kiriakis Signed Away His Rights
When Philip learned the truth, there was a court battle for the child, who had been taken away from Steve and Kayla and placed with another couple.
Eventually Philip decided he wasn’t ready to be a parent and he signed over his rights to his son. Steve and Kayla agreed that the other foster parents should keep the child and he was adopted in 2007.
Philip and Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) discussed his son this year, which led to the spoilers that he would once again be running into his son some time soon.
Now that Mason (Brandon Butler) has shown up in Salem, fans are certainly wondering if this could possibly be the child Philip gave away years ago.
Mason Seems To Be The Right Age
Philip’s son would be around 20 now, unless, of course, he has been soras’d. Mason seems to be close to his age and he certainly has issues with Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis).
This suggests that he knows the family or is friends with someone who has something against Holly. Could Mason be Philip’s child and be learning just now who his family is?
Of course, Mason could also be a friend of Sophia Choi’s (Rachel Boyd) and blame Holly for Sophia’s death, which has been mentioned. Could Mason and Philip’s son be one and the same?
What does Mason want in Salem and why is he there without any family? Could the Kiriakis’ be the family that Mason is tied to and what does he want from them?
