Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates reveal that Jeremy Horton (Michael Roark) was cleared after months of false claims against him.
Remember, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) gave him snacks when he packed his car to leave school for New York, where he would stay with his dad, Mike Horton (Roark Critchlow).
Jeremy Might Actually Stay In Salem Now, Although He May Be Recast
After the co-kidnapping with Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein), Jeremy might actually stay-Michael Roark leaves on April 29th, but we’ll discuss a possible recast.
Remember, Jeremy and Stephanie got free, but she collapsed in his arms. By the time Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) arrived, she was mostly saved; only the door lock held them back.
Last week, Alex and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) entered Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) and EJ DiMera‘s (Dan Feuerriegel) secret lab behind the Tom Horton Free Clinic. Alex was shocked to find Jeremy gently holding Stephanie.
Hothead Alex Misinterpreted The Scene
Hotheaded Alex misinterpreted the scene, which is understandable-walking in to see her unconscious and a presumed stalker holding her would make anyone panic.
He attacked Jeremy, punching him several times until Stephanie yelled for him to stop; she clarified that Jeremy wasn’t her kidnapper; it was Owen Kent (Wes Ramsey).
This assault happened right after Stephanie dislocated Jeremy’s thumb to help them escape.
After seeing Owen as a janitor and Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) finding Stephanie’s phone, Jeremy figured it out and bravely followed Owen to the hospital. He waited for the right moment to rescue Stephanie, but it ended up being a huge failure.
Stephanie Started Screaming And Blaming Jeremy Until Owen Showed Up
She began screaming because she mistakenly blamed Jeremy for the stalking and her kidnapping; then Owen appeared, shocking Stephanie.
He grabbed Jeremy, taking him prisoner; now Owen had two captives when he only wanted one, and he was ready to kill the extra victim. Stephanie apologized to Jeremy, and they quickly started planning their escape.
She tricked Owen into unlocking her handcuffs by saying her legs hurt from sitting too long. Stephanie played into Owen’s obsession, kissing him to slide her hands into his back pocket and grab his cell phone.
Owen Was Furious When He Heard The Dispatcher, And Ran
Owen was furious when he heard the 911 dispatcher, and Stephanie and Jeremy began yelling for help; he handcuffed her, and after they were both restrained, they moved closer together. She pulled Jeremy’s thumb out of its socket to free him from his cuffs.
Then, Stephanie showed Jeremy how to use bobby pins from her hair to unlock her handcuffs. But Jeremy’s luck ran out when he tried to pick the door lock.
He managed to free Stephanie, but she was too weak and collapsed in his arms-then Alex burst in and started beating him, unaware of the situation.
Apologies Started Once Stephanie And Jeremy Got To The Hospital
Once Stephanie and Jeremy reached the hospital, the expected apologies started; first, Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) apologized to Jeremy.
Jada was harsh to him on their date and even accused him of hacking the system, which was absurd. After Jada’s apology, Alex visited Jeremy to say sorry for hurting him and for the nasty accusations.
Alex has been frustrated with Jeremy for a while and asked if he still planned to leave Salem. This was right after Jeremy spoke with Julie about the incident.
Jeremy Said He Might Stay
Surprisingly, Jeremy suggested he might stay in Salem; it makes sense for him to remain, especially with the upcoming drama for Alex and Stephanie that could affect their relationship.
However, we know Michael Roark’s last day on Days is April 29th, which raises questions about a possible recast for Jeremy that we might not know about yet.
Michael Roark is busy and couldn’t continue as Jeremy due to other commitments. Although there are no official announcements about changing Jeremy’s actor, it could have happened quietly since Days films 9 to 10 months in advance.
It May Not Have Been Announced Yet Or It Flew Under The Radar
It might have gone unnoticed that Michael Roark left and someone new took over; Days has no problem with recasts; they’ve done it many times.
If Jeremy is recast and stays in Salem, he could support Stephanie when Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) returns after having her baby.
Joy left town pregnant but lied to Alex and Stephanie about it-she’s coming back on April 24th, right after May Sweeps starts.
Michael Roark will still appear for a few episodes when Joy returns with baby drama. Given Stephanie’s trauma and her past with Jeremy, she might seek comfort from him regarding Joy.
Alex Doesn’t Know That Stephanie Doesn’t Want Kids
Also, Alex doesn’t know that Stephanie doesn’t want kids, while he wants a big family; if Jeremy is recast, we could see a love triangle or even a quadrangle with Joy involved.
Trauma bonding is real, and Jeremy is the only one who truly understands what Stephanie has faced. She might be upset with Alex for hurting Jeremy, and it’s clear Alex would prefer Jeremy gone as soon as he’s out of the hospital.
While fans would love to see Michael Roark stay as Jeremy, another actor may be taking over, especially with Joy’s arrival. We’ll have to see what happens; a secret recast might be on the way.
