DOOL Spoilers: A Salem Hunk Returns With A New Name

Days Of Our Lives spoilers say a new character will be debuting in Salem next week on the Peacock soap.

The streaming app took to Instagram to share the exciting news and revealed that “Mason Whitfield” will be arriving on September 1, 2026.  Keep reading for all of the details.

According to DOOL comings and goings, Brandon Butler has joined the cast as the mysterious new character.

Brandon Butler Returns

If Brandon Butler looks familiar to soap fans, it’s because he had a brief but huge role on Days of Our Lives last year.  In 2025 Butler appeared as Bo Brady’s dead son Zack Brady.

In the iconic episode, Bo was in a coma and dreamt his dead son was a grown man now.  Zack (Brandon Butler) was in heaven and encouraged his father to wake up and return to the land of the living.

Who Is Playing Mason Whitfield

This week Peacock shared a video on Instagram and captioned it, “Get to know Brandon Butler, who will be playing Mason Whitfield! Here are five fun facts about the newest addition to the Days of our Lives cast before his first episode on September 1.”

The Mason Whitfield portrayer revealed some fun facts about himself, including the fact that Days was his late mother’s favorite show and they used to watch it together.  Butler smiled in to the camera and said, “So, this one’s for you mom.”

The soap is keeping mum on who exactly Mason Whitfield is and why he pops up in Salem.  There’s some speculation that his arrival might coincide with the arrival of another new character in early September, who will reportedly be played by Sydney Malekeh.
