Dolly Parton Reveals Health Scare At Dollywood

Dolly Parton fans were disappointed this weekend when they attended a ceremony at her theme park in Tennessee, and the 80 year old country music legend wasn’t able to attend.

But, she did appear on the Dollywood sage in a video on the big screen and shared an update about a recent health scare.

What’s Wrong With Dolly Parton

At 80 years old, Dolly Parton is in amazing shape and health.  However, she’s always the subject of death hoaxes and rumors on social media.

Dolly likes to cut out the middle man, and usually shares a personal update via video message with her fans to let them know that she’s okay.  Some might call it “Proof of Life.”

Dolly Parton was supposed to appear at Dollywood this week for the dedication of the new Night Flight Expedition ride.

She didn’t make it to the ceremony because her doctors advised her to stay in Nashville and not to travel.  The grueling Tennessee summer heat is taking a toll on the “Jolene” singer.

Dolly Updates Fans After Health Issues

Although she wasn’t able to make it in person, Dolly did appear in a video at the event that was aired on Knox News.  In the video, she explained that she’s been battling heat exhaustion and extremely dehydrated.

Parton joked to the camera, “I’ve had my butterfly wings flappin’ since May 15 when we were due to open the first time, and again in June.  But I know we had to make sure this is the safest, since it is the biggest and the most expensive ride we have ever added to Dollywood. So we’re gonna open it today. That’s why I’m here [in Nashville], because my little butterfly wings are getting kinda tired.”

The Dollywood Queen went on to reassure everyone that she was on the mend, and would be back on stage and making appearances soon.
