Deadliest Catch: Keith Colburn Nearly Loses Ship And Crew

Season 22 of the popular series Deadliest Catch is currently airing on Discovery Channel this Spring.

An all new episode of our fan faves battling the Bering Sea for crabs aired on Friday June 12, and it was appropriately titled “Rocked To The Core.” In fact, one of the cast members nearly lost his ship and had to call in for back-up.

Every season of Deadliest Catch features fishermen battling the weather and wild waves while out at sea.  But, Season 22 has been especially hard on fan faves Keith Colburn, Sig Hansen, and Rick Shelford.

This week’s episode of the popular Discovery Channel series saw cast member Keith Colburn nearly have another medical emergency.

Keith Colburn has been a fixture on the series for over a decade, and came on during season 3.  During a Season 20 episode of Deadliest Catch, Keith Colburn and his crew had a close call on The Wizard while they out to sea.

Keith was arguing with his crew and became dizzy and passed out.  His brother Monte had to steer the ship to shore and it was later revealed Colburn had a stroke while aboard the ship.

Health Scare For Keith Colburn

During this week’s Deadliest Catch episode, things weren’t going well for Keith and his crew.  Wild waves ravaged the Bering Sea, and the men had to rush down below for safety.

There were a few minor injuries during the storm and Keith Colburn got worked up while trying to protect his men.

All of the excitement and danger aboard The Wizard worked Keith Colburn up and he began to feel sick.  The experienced captain had to call in his brother Monte Colburn for assistance getting the rest of their crab load.
