The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) believes he has the only solution.
Telling his wife the truth isn’t an option, which is the same line he’s forced Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) to believe about her husband.
John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) wasn’t receptive to what seemed like a heartfelt idea.
But what Finn didn’t realize was that Carter created the egg donor and surrogate idea due to pure desperation and made Steffy go along with it.
Carter’s plan is to rush the process and take advantage of Finn being out of town. Steffy’s visible anguish is something that Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) has already detected, with Daphne Walton’s (Murielle Hilaire) recognition not far behind.
Taylor Hayes Knows Her Child
Maternal instinct, like paternal instinct, can’t be fully described in words. It’s based on one’s eternal bond to a child or children and the experience built through the years.
So, Taylor’s suspicion that something is off with Steffy, as she described it to the father of her child, Ridge Forrester Finnegan (Thorsten Kaye), makes total sense. This is something all viewers who are parents can relate to.
Making Taylor the first person to sense that something isn’t right with Steffy is a first step in breaking this soapy dilemma.
Whether Budig’s character presses and receives an answer from Steffy remains to be seen. Alternatively, Taylor could be the person Steffy confides in.
Daphne Walton Is Overjoyed For Now
Daphne has been on a soapy rollercoaster ride. She was devastated when sitting beside Steffy and hearing Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) say that premature menopause meant that a child couldn’t be conceived.
Then, Daphne made an impulsive decision that proved fateful. Telling Carter she had to leave town and be with her family in France, while giving him her wedding and engagement ring, crushed him.
Now, weeks later, Daphne’s mind is clearing. So, she will question why Steffy and Carter need to rush the surrogacy process. It will be as odd as it appears and naturally raise what would seem like unnecessary questions.
Steffy Forrester Finnegan’s Baby Is In Danger
Steffy’s visibly shaken, which is why Taylor’s early detection happened. But Daphne will notice that her perceived best friend doesn’t look like someone who’s a happy volunteer for surrogacy, and that won’t make sense.
Being in the first trimester of a pregnancy is a time when Steffy should be focused on caring for her body and the baby that’s developing inside of her.
Yet, because of Carter’s pressured plan and the complete deception of their spouses that’s connected to it, Wood’s character can’t focus.
No woman with morals would be able to fake being a surrogate when, in reality, she’s the mother of the child inside her. No man with a conscience would manipulate this plan into existence.
But Steffy will be affected by intense and increasing stress until she retakes control of her life. Telling the truth would at least allow her to control when Finn receives that shock.
But withholding reality from him and Daphne means that Steffy will also endure the blow of truth whenever it unexpectedly comes, and that won’t be good for the baby.
