B&B Spoilers: Are They Punishing Steffy, Or Just Out Of Ideas?

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers show that we’re rounding the bases again and sprinting for home plate.

Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is in another cheating storyline. It has us asking a fair question. Is this really all the writers have for us? Do they really not have any more ideas to add to her story other than affairs?

We understand that this is a soap opera and cheating is going to happen. It’s a staple of every great soap.

But does it have to be every single week? And how many times can the same character go through the same storyline? Honestly, at this point, does anyone even like Steffy?

Is This Just Laziness?

Picture this. Maybe this isn’t really about punishing Steffy. Maybe it’s much simpler than that. The writers might genuinely have no idea what else to do with her.

Giving her a fresh, non-romantic storyline about anything that doesn’t hinge on cheating, apparently, isn’t on the table. So the ‘easy button’ gets pressed again.

She’s cheated on Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks), John ‘Finn’ Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton).

Now add Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) to that list. Maybe not cheated ‘on’, but surely ‘with’ counts. Let’s also not forget that weird storyline with Bill Spencer (Don Diamont).

Steffy’s A Strong Character Though!

The most annoying part is that Steffy is genuinely a strong character when she’s not going through the same storyline.

Her business mind, role as a mother, and the complicated dynamic with Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) are all real material that could be dove into.

Repeating the cheating storyline isn’t only annoying to the viewers, but it doesn’t do any favors for the character either. It makes her a flat, one-dimensional character that could be carrying much larger storylines.

On the other side, Finn just looks like the same, forgiving husband every time. He’s supposed to be a doctor, and instead we have him begging for Steffy back every other week. Steffy deserves better writing. And the viewers deserve better stories.
