B&B News: Where Is Thomas Forrester? Matthew Atkinson Reveals His Surprising New Adventure

The Bold And The Beautiful spoilers reveal that it has been a while since we saw Matthew Atkinson as Thomas Forrester.

However, that doesn’t mean that the actor is sitting idle instead of working on other things. Atkinson recently announced that he has a new project that he is looking forward to.

Atkinson’s new project is called Into The Wilderness and it explores theology, philosophy, faith, and personal growth.

Introducing “Into The Wilderness” With Matthew Atkinson

Matthew made the announcement of his new project via its Instagram page and he posed a very intriguing question. “What if the way we see God, ourselves, and the world isn’t quite the way things actually are?”

The post continues to explain the point of the project and invites others to take a look at themselves and their own personal thoughts on the subject.

“Into the Wilderness is an invitation to question what we’ve inherited, rediscover what matters, and explore the deeper reality beneath the surface of everyday life. Through theology, philosophy, and the wisdom of those who’ve gone before us, we’ll explore what it means to become fully human. Not just to believe differently, but to live differently. I’m Matthew Atkinson. Welcome to Into the Wilderness. First episode drops tomorrow (Friday, 9/25). Follow along and join the conversation.”

What Lead Matthew Atkinson To Start This Project?

Matthew is married to Brytnee Ratledge in real life and the couple have two children. Matthew opened up about the reason he decided to start this project and what he hopes to accomplish.

“Why am I sitting here talking to a camera? I was confronted by the God that I’ve always known,” Atkinson posted. “That’s how it started. The God that has existed through my entire life, that I’ve known but strayed away from, and he confronted me. The presence of him is a person that I know and I continue to learn about, and I continue to develop a relationship with, and I continue to understand on a deeper level. But it’s just a mystery that is more real than it feels like anything I’ve ever gotten or experienced.”

Matthew Atkinson’s Soap History

Fan remember Matthew as Thomas Forrester from 2019 to 2025 and enjoyed his not so sane time as a man obsessed with Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle).

Thomas had a brain tumor at one time that made him fall in love with a mannequin, among other things. When Thomas finally got his chance with Hope, she refused to commit to him and he finally left town to move on.

Before his stint as Thomas, Atkinson also played Austin Travers on The Young and the Restless from 2014 to 2015.

Travers was an obsessed soul as well and was eventually killed by blunt force trauma to the head. Atkinson also appeared on ABC’s Jane By Design.
