Anna Duggar’s Emails to Joseph After Arrest Revealed

Read Josh Duggar's Wife Anna's Emails to Joseph After His ArrestAnna Duggar is standing by her brother-in-law, Joseph Duggar, during a turbulent time. On March 21, as Joseph awaited extradition from Arkansas’ Washington County Correctional Facility to Florida, Anna, 37, sent him a heartfelt email. The message, obtained by People, began warmly:

“Hey Joseph! Bro, you’ve got our prayers. We love you — however we can help, please let us know.”

She didn’t stop at words of encouragement. Anna mentioned she had sent him some money and shared practical advice drawn from her husband Josh Duggar’s experience behind bars at the same facility between 2021 and 2022. Josh is currently serving time in a Texas federal prison for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material.

“Joshua‘s experience there at Washington County was fairly safe,” Anna wrote, asking Joseph to reach out “if there are any concerns for [his] health or safety.”

She also offered tips on navigating the jail system, noting the “two-week commissary delay” and adding:

“If you will be there a while, we definitely want to send some goodies your way.”

In addition, she reminded Joseph about the importance of legal caution:

“Don’t talk about anything legal unless you are with an attorney. Everything said in these messages, phone calls, and video chats are recorded and turned over to prosecutors.”

Anna concluded her note with a simple, reassuring sign-off:

“Praying for ya, love ya. Anna.”

Joseph’s Solitary Confinement and Kendra’s Involvement

The following day, March 22, Joseph reached out to Anna for help connecting with his wife, Kendra Duggar, while in solitary confinement. She suggested he request a visit from the chaplain and mentioned that he could access more books through that channel:

“You can put in a request to chaplain to visit you. He can give you more books too.”

The Charges Against Joseph and Kendra

Joseph’s arrest came on March 18, when he was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior involving a child under 12, as well as lewd and lascivious acts by someone 18 or older. The alleged incidents, involving a 9-year-old girl, took place in Florida in 2020.

Two days later, additional charges were filed: four second-degree counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four second-degree counts of false imprisonment — charges that also involved Kendra, who shares four children with Joseph.

Kendra, 27, was released on the same day as her March 20 arrest and has maintained contact with Joseph via phone.

During their emotional calls, she updated him about the lawyer she hired — a member of Josh Duggar’s legal team — and shared that their children had been “taken.”

The couple, married since 2017, even exchanged playful remarks about Joseph’s jailhouse workouts and his “trim” figure.

Joseph appeared in a Florida court on Tuesday and was released on a $600,000 bond.
