All My Children Fans Celebrate Susan Lucci Reboot Update

All My Children fans have been teased with the possibility of a reboot for years now.  After the soap was canceled in 2013, there have always been whispers of another network picking up the daytime show.  Hulu tried it and failed.  Then in 2019, Kelly Ripa gave AMC fans hope.

Kelly Ripa got her start on daytime television on All My Children, she played the part of fan fave Hayley Vaughn for over a decade.  Kelly’s real life husband Mark Consuelos is also an AMC alum (Mateo).  

All My Children Revival Still In The Works

in 2019 the daytime couple announced that they were in talks with ABC to bring back All My Children and serve as producers on the primetime revival.  Despite all of the buzz the soap reboot generated, it never seemed to get off the ground. 

Last year Kelly Ripa spoke about bringing All My Children back on CBS’ Soapy Podcast.  But, it kind of sounded like the project was a dud and was never going to see the light of day.  Ripa’s comments made fans think it was never going to happen.  

Kelly explained, “It’s like one of those things where you get something off the ground and then, ‘Oh, there’s corporate structuring, there’s new management.’ Then, the project falls down, and then you renewed interest. Then it’s ‘the person championing this was let go.’  So, it’s like one of these things that has never gone away.”

Susan Lucci Shares Promising Update

Just when all hope was lost, Susan Lucci gave fans an exciting update.  The popular soap star (also known as Erica Kane) appeared on the SAME podcast this month and revealed, “It’s been bubbling for several years. And then just when I think that it probably isn’t bubbling anymore, it’s bubbling. It’s bubbling as we speak.”
