Alicia Seymour: The ‘Doomsday Mom’ Children Trapped In Croatia

Alicia Seymour – @adaughteroflight- TikTok

If someone posts about the apocalypse on TikTok, most people might take little notice and just scroll on by, but true crime followers might have paid more attention to Alicia Seymour if they’d known more about the future.

Disappearing With The Kids

The posts about a Salt Lake City family were, in fact, a terrifying countdown for them. Alicia not only spoke about the end of the world but also forecast a bloody one in Utah. Later, she disappeared with her four children. And, nobody knew if they were alive.

On Sunday, Ashleigh Banfield shared an update on her Drop Dead Serious podcast. In fact, the kids were found alive in far away Croatia. Alicia, arrested, sits in prison there for the time being. However, it’s not yet a happy ever after story.

Update On The ‘Utah Doomsday Mom’

Ashleigh chatted with the children’s aunt, Jill Seymour, who revealed some pretty upsetting information. Of course, the kids are safe from their mother, but they’re stuck. Currently, they sit in a government facility in Croatia amid diplomatic wrangling.

The whole situation of their discovery is, in fact, a bit crazy. Forget high-tech surveillance. Ashleigh reminded her followers that a 13-year-old boy living in the same Croatian home solved the mystery.

Curious, he looked up the children’s names online, and then it dawned on him that he was living with missing persons. Next, he told his mom, and she called the cops.

A Hero But Little Improvement For The Kids

Banfield said that “he basically saved these kids.” So, he’s a real-life hero, really. But unfortunately, everything isn’t wonderful right now, despite the arrest of Alicia Seymour. Apparently, the “care” the kids get isn’t something to write home about.

Jill Seymour said that “the quality of care…is abysmal.” Most of the staff don’t even speak English. Meanwhile, the kids mainly watch unmonitored YouTube all day.

Additionally, she felt a bit miffed because allegedly, the clothes their family brings them end up disappearing or being taken by other kids in the facility. Regarding visitation, the father and aunt are with the kids there right now, but only for two hours each day.

Very Slow Process

Notably, everything happens very slowly because the Croatian courts have yet to officially recognize the U. S. custody orders. In fact, “the roadblocks have been mind-boggling,” Banfield noted.

Meanwhile, the family started a GoFundMe to help with the growing legal costs and travel expenses. Additionally they also plan on helping the 13-year-old boy relocate to America. But for now, they sit idle in a foreign country, waiting for this true crime nightmare to end.

In the comments section, followers of The ‘Utah Doomsday Mom’ chimed in with their thoughts. One of them opined, “Thank God the mother listened to her son and took the steps to get this settled. I feel sorry for all of the children. I hope the US embassy can truly help them.”

Here are a few more responses from the discussion:

  • The fact that a biological parent has minimal rights in the lives of their children is SCARY.
  • This woman is batshit crazy!
  • Ahhh, the crazy eyebrow kidnapping lady. Glad the kids weren’t harmed.
  • This is insane [the dad] can’t go over pick up his children.
  • Where is the US Consulate? There has to be help somewhere! They were kidnapped!
