’90 Day Fiancé’ Couple Faces Devastating Visa Crisis After Shocking Health Emergency

Jenny Slatten’s battle with ALS is pushing the beloved ‘90 Day Fiancé’ couple to run into some uncomfortable straits.

Sumit Singh and Jenny Slatten have been appearing in ‘90 Day Fiancé’ for years from their home in India.

Even though Singh previously said that he doesn’t see anything that would motivate him to move to the US, he’s finally coming around to it now that Slatten is diagnosed with ALS and her doctor said she can’t travel alone.

‘90 Day Fiancé’s’ Sumit Singh Starts Visa Process In Preparation For A Move to America

Sumit Singh is reportedly racing against the clock to acquire an emergency tourist visa. This is coming after it was confirmed that Slatten’s rumored stroke was actually ALS.

“We’ve started the visa process for Sumit to come to the US, to bring my mom so that she can come here and get more treatment using her insurance.

The doctors have told her she cannot travel alone because it’s such a long flight that Sumit has become her full-time caregiver as her husband, so we’ve started the process,” Slatten’s daughter, Christina, revealed on Instagram.

Even though Singh can choose to acquire a green card as a result of being married to Slatten, who is an American citizen, he has decided to forego it altogether due to timing issues.

“A lot of things happening with immigration right now are kind of jumbling things up for foreigners to come to this country,” Christina pointed out, adding, “We have applied for an emergency tourist spousal visa, not for a green card. Only for a tourist visa. It’s a lot longer of a process to try to get a green card, especially right now, you know, they’re not making it easy for anyone. So we’re going the tourist route.”

At present, we’re not privy to the details of the Visa application, like how long he might be allowed to stay on the Visa, but we do know Singh is invested in accompanying his wife for treatment.

With the US immigration being what it is, Sumit’s Visa may be denied altogether, though the likelihood of that happening is actually quite slim.

However, even if this is the case, ‘90 Day: The Last Resort’ has served to show us that the couple can rise above any new challenge.

Remember when the restaurant they opened failed and Sumit secretly took out a loan? They survived that, didn’t they?

They’re also not alone, as castmate Sarper Guven has helped them organize sold-out benefit shows, as well as the ‘90 Day Fiancé’ community rallying to support them.
