Sharon Newman is Coping A Lot Better Than Phyllis Summers

Phyllis and Sharon understand each other on a deeper level after going through such a horrible experience together. However, Sharon is coping far better than Phyllis in the aftermath.

Maybe that’s partly because Sharon faced so many traumatic moments leading up to that clinic captivity stint – including another stint held captive in the sewer.

Sharon has learned to bounce back since she’s been up against so much in recent months. Of course, having Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to lean on has been a big help as well.

Sharon Newman Gets a Massive Shock

Sharon has been off in London with Nick for a family trip, but she could get a shock when she returns to Genoa City.

Phyllis looked like she was having another panic attack after Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) fired her and Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) once again pushed her to back off.

It appears Phyllis is trying to find ways to cope and gain a new sense of purpose, but everything is backfiring.

Even if Phyllis latches onto Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and perhaps tries to help her at Marchetti next, that won’t fix the underlying mental health issues here.

Phyllis just keeps spinning out and could really use a helping hand, so will Sharon return home and give her one?

Now that Sharon is more of a friend than a foe, she could step up for Phyllis’ sake. It’s easy to imagine Sharon finding Phyllis in the middle of another total meltdown, so she may be the one to save the day.

It definitely seems like Phyllis would benefit from talking to a mental health professional and unpacking all her messy emotions.
