The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) are interested in exploring the present. But their shared past must be addressed first.
Fans who have long wanted the couple once known as Shick to reunite while knowing that possibility is fraught with risk.
Nick recently told Sharon he fears hurting her again if they pursue love. She countered by acknowledging her mistakes.
But today isn’t yesterday in the soap world, and the one where all fans live on the other side of the screen. As for tomorrow, only Nick and Sharon can determine what that becomes and if they are willing to take another leap.
One Of Genoa City’s Greatest Pairings
There is no reasonable doubt that this couple, with Sharon purposely being placed first to create the mash-up nickname Shick, ranks with the greatest pairings in this soap opera’s history.
The arrival of Case and Morrow impacted the direction of this show when they debuted in 1994.
Meeting as high school students in their late teens, Walnut Grove and Crimson Lights were where Sharon and Nick came to know each other. Both actors reached the thirty-year milestone mark last year, with the current storyline developing into this year.
One of the most controversial and debatable decisions those in charge ever made involved splitting Sharon and Nick, with their divorce never resulting in a remarriage. That is highly unusual in daytime, potentially making this try at reconciliation the one that works.
Working Through Multiple Daytime Dramas
Sharon was targeted by Ian Ward (Ray Wise) and Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk). Thankfully, Jordan decided to freelance and didn’t follow Ian’s instructions to kill Sharon.
Zenk’s character took Sharon to the bowels of GC, chaining her to a pipe. That was preferable to Ian’s preferred outcome, as Sharon later learned.
Eventually, Sharon escaped when willing herself with Nick’s assistance, though Morrow’s character was purely a motivational figment in her mind. Yet, that wasn’t the end of Sharon’s rough winter.
The idea that she would subsequently be kidnapped by a man who was assumed dead and was posing as his identical twin brother would have been enough. Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins) included Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) in the next house of horrors.
London Is Calling Sharon Newman And Nick Newman
Sharon can finally realize her postponed trip with the second kidnapping behind her. Nick’s choice to join this part of his family sends a flashing signal, but it isn’t entirely green.
Yellow is an apt choice because Nick remains cautious, likely using the trappings of a family vacation as an out if he opts not to pursue Sharon again. However, the mood and destination location should enable good feelings and provide momentum.
All these years later, Sharon and Nick are mature middle-agers, rather than the impulsive twenty-somethings they used to be. Here’s hoping they are being written to a real chance at renewed love and that leap to remarriage.
