Y&R Spoilers: Claire’s Stunning Change Catches Kyle Off Guard – A Reveal He Never Expected

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) left Genoa City, Wisconsin, to create distance from Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). She returns as a changed woman with two men in her life, including Holden Novak (Nathan Owens).

Kyle again disregarded his parents’ wise advice. Rather than accept what Claire wanted, he followed her to Los Angeles, California, as part of Y&R’s second setting, establishing an alternative storyline. What he learned on the left coast wasn’t good.

Holden became more than Claire’s friend and self-appointed tour guide. They connected romantically at her urging, which was only a partial reaction to the break from Kyle.

Running Away From Home As An Adult?

Claire hasn’t developed her emotions as most people who are thirty-ish have. She isn’t at fault for that gap. Instead, her heinous, deceased great aunt forever holds that dark card.

Being stolen from one’s parents at birth isn’t something most people can relate to, unless you live in a soap world where various others, including Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), can swap horror stories.

To her credit, Claire rejected Jordan, saved her family, and has worked hard to live as normal a life as possible.

The bond with Kyle happened naturally. They were friends and then grew their relationship, which included her warm bond with his son, Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell).

A fair analysis confirms that Claire didn’t run away from GC or Kyle. She intended to process all that had happened. But to be fair, connecting with Holden complicates matters.

The Audra Charles News Changes The Story

To his credit, Holden told Claire what happened in Los Angeles, California. Viewers connected the introduction of Roger Howarth’s (Matt Clark, Mitch Bacall) and Tamara Braun’s (Sienna Bacall) characters as the forerunners to Holden being able to fill in his backstory.

Claire is sharp. So, Holden was smart not to tell her the name of the man Audra Cortes (Zuleyka Silver) stole half a million dollars from.

Holden’s additional information about Audra’s unsolicited one-hundred-thousand-dollar payoff also gave Claire incentive to keep this intel to herself. That includes the fake last name, Charles, she created to protect herself from a seeming underworld figure.

Kyle Abbott Is Hopeful But Realistic

Kyle is different than Claire. He’s had the good fortune of being involved with many dynamic romantic connections and marriages.

His personal backstory allowed him to recognize Holden as a threat. Kyle doesn’t yet know that fear has been realized, but soon will.

A coming battle, potentially physical, is ahead. While Claire has an incentive to keep Holden’s reveal a secret, Kyle doesn’t.

Viewers can assume that Mealor’s character will gain that knowledge and then use it against Holden and Audra to a maximum negative effect in both instances.
