After Claire and Holden’s steamy hotel rendezvous in the October 31 episode, she might just find herself expecting.

It only takes one encounter to conceive, particularly in soap operas where women are often portrayed as exceptionally fertile for the sake of unexpected pregnancy plots.

There’s no assurance that Claire and Holden practiced safe sex; even if they did, it’s not foolproof and certainly doesn’t eliminate the chance of a dramatic baby twist.

Back in September, Claire may have alluded to a surprise pregnancy in her future. Fans of Y&R might remember Claire’s reaction to Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) marriage proposal, where she seemed to question whether he would bring up the idea of starting a family next.

Kyle made a joke about it being “not yet,” but the mere mention of a baby felt like a significant hint.

It’s possible that Kyle will end up heartbroken when Claire becomes pregnant with Holden’s child instead of his. Kyle has been making an effort to pull Claire away from Holden and to rekindle his own relationship with her;

If Claire does get pregnant, she could very well regret giving in to the temptation of Holden, as it would create a lasting bond between them.

It’s one thing for Claire to feel drawn to Holden and enjoy her time with him; it’s an entirely different matter to envision a lasting bond and trust Holden to be a responsible father.

Once Claire learns about the terrible secrets that Holden and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) are concealing, she might come to understand that Kyle was justified in his concerns and attempts to shield her.

Sadly, this realization could arrive too late if Claire finds herself expecting Holden’s child when his dubious revelations come to light.
