‘Y&R’ Comings & Goings August 4-8: New Role, Sad Exits, Momma Bear Return

The Young and the Restless spoilers for the week of August 4-8 hint at some bombshells on the horizon, plus a flurry of casting changes! Find out ‘who’s coming and who’s going’ in the land of Genoa City over the next five days down below.

Elizabeth Hendrickson’s New Role

As per her Instagram handle, Elizabeth Hendrickson, who plays Chloe Fisher, is swapping onscreen work, for a behind-the-camera role. She’s officially a director for the CBS soap, and her first episode in this job airs Tuesday, August 5.

In other fun news, Bryton James, who plays Devon Hamilton-Winters, is ditching Genoa City during the week of August 4-8 and heading to Fairmont Crest.

The actor is doing a crossover storyline on the new CBS soap, Beyond the Gates, which will be a first for the new daytime drama.

Sad Exits

Y&R fans were sad when the soap decided to kill off Chance Chancellor this week, who was played by Conner Floyd.

While most knew he was on recurring status and that Floyd was moving to Days of Our Lives, it was still a shock that he went out the way he did, considering Chance is a legacy character.

In addition, Vincent Stalba, who played Carter, also ended his quickie run on the show this past week.

As such, Jess Walton will reprise her role as Jill Abbott, who’ll be heading to Genoa City during the week of August 4-8 for Chance Chancellor’s funeral. Expect Jill to be mad as heck about what’s happened to her grandson.

Young and the Restless spoilers note she and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will have a confrontation during the Tuesday, August 5 episode, but she will also likely have a face-off with Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) at some point, as she may blame him for Chance’s passing, considering the incident occurred on his property and he invited Chance to his summer home to investigate a potential murder.
