Will Y&R recast Olivia? It’s the perfect Time For Nate’s Mom To Return

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease another blast from the past could be headed to Genoa City. Dr. Nate Hastings, Jr. (Sean Dominic) could use the support of his mom, Dr. Olivia Hastings (Tonya Lee Wiliams).

Tonya Lee Williams previously played the role of Olivia. But Williams has said in multiple interviews that she had no desire to return to the soapy role. If Y&R wants Olivia back on the canvas, they must find a new actress to step into the role.

Olivia’s Exit Storyline

Nate’s father, Nathan Hastings (Randy Brooks) had an affair with Keesha Monroe (Jennifer Gatti). Olivia found out about the affair and confronted her husband.

It ended up being a two-edged sword—Olivia finds out not only did Nathan have an affair with Keesha, but her husband contracted AIDS from her.

Olivia banned Nathan from seeing their son and divorced him immediately. She hoped he would die alone as punishment for betraying her.

After her marriage ended, Olivia married Macolm Winters (Shemar Moore). After everything she went through with Nathan, she was marriage.

After Malcolm divorced Olivia, she pursued Neil Winters (Kristoff St John). He refused her advances. He was committed to his marriage to Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell).

Neil told Olivia that he would keep her pursuit of him between them. He didn’t want to damage her relationship with her sister.

Not long after Neil’s rejection, Olivia became very ill. The doctors diagnosed her with aplastic anemia. She was on her deathbed and nearly died.

Dru saved her life with a bone marrow transplant. After recovering, Olivia and little Nate left Genoa City for a new beginning.

Over the years, Williams has reprised the role for short arcs. The last appearance was in 2012 for Cane Ashby (then-Daniel Goddard) and Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) second marriage.

Is It Time For Olivia To Return?

Nate could use his mother’s advice and support as he navigates the difficult situation with his half-brother, Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers). He needs some support from family. He finds himself often on the outside of the Winters family.

They care about him, but Lily and Devon Winters (Bryton James) are tight with no room for a third wheel.

Lily could use her aunt’s love, too. When Drucilla died, it devastated Lily. The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Lily could use a motherly figure. She often feels alone and without any parental guidance with both her parents gone.
