Will “The Way Home” Get Saved By Netflix

Hallmark fans were blindsighted when the network announced they were pulling the plug on the popular series, “The Way Home.” 

There were no warning signs, ratings were solid, and the show was only in its third season.  Now that the final episodes are coming down the pipeline, Way Home fans are wondering if a streaming giant could save their beloved show.  

Is Hallmark’s “The Way Home” REALLY over, or is there still hope for the magical time-travel series?  Keep reading to find out!

The Way Home Final Season

The series was gearing up for season 4 when Hallmark announced that these episodes would be the show’s final season. 

This month the cast and crew of the series took to social media and revealed that they had just finished filming the show’s finale.  Seeing as how the show is ending, they got a bit nostalgic.

“The Way Home” cast member and fan fave Chyler Leigh took to Instagram and posted, “Last day of filming The Way Home… Gutted doesn’t even come close to the feeling. The most beautiful journey I’ve been on in my life. Definitely something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.”

Will Netflix Save “The Way Home”

Then Leigh went on to encourage her followers to campaign for Netflix to pick up Season 5.  Netflix already has season 1 and 2 available to stream. 

In the past when popular shows are axed by the network, Netflix has bought rights to them and added new episodes so they can keep them going for their viewers. 

Some examples of cancelled TV shows that Netflix saved include Longmire, Lucifer, Cobra Kai, and The Killing.  

Subtlety is clearly not Chyler Leigh’s strong suit.  The Way Home cast member even tagged Netflix in her post and added a “Season 5” hashtag.  In another post Leigh told fans of the TV show that “They know what to do” if they want to convince Netflix to pick up the show.
