It’s been said that the tipping point for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle deciding to up and leave the Royal Family had a lot to do with Queen Elizabeth’s 2019 Christmas message.
During the special broadcast, the Queen displayed pictures of her husband, then-King Charles and Camilla’s, and Prince William, Kate and their children’s, but there was none of Harry and Meghan in sight.
Ignoring the fact that Harry and Meghan weren’t the only grandchildren of the Queen’s not to be included in the message, the gesture was said to particularly strike the Sussexes’ at their core.
However, now that they’ve left, their picture won’t be the only thing missing from any of the Royal Family’s official events. Their names will be too.
Royal Commentator Seems To Deny Any “Private Exchange” Happening Between Prince William and Prince Harry This Festive Season
Even though Harry pushed for reconciliation this year, he sadly still did not receive any invitation to the Royal Family’s various festive gatherings.
Now what does that say about his relationship with his father and brother? GB News anchor Nana Akua wanted to know too.
Akua asked: “Talking about Harry and Meghan, because I don’t think they were invited, they’re going to be staying in California – I’m not sure they would have come anyway. Are they likely to do a Christmas message? Did they do one last year? Did they communicate between each other giving them happy Christmas wishes?”
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams responded: “It appears the royal practice is to acknowledge non-working royals only on very special days. As far as whether they will exchange Christmas cards – it’s reported that William and Harry haven’t spoken in over three years, now is that still the case? Has there been private communication?”
“We know that Harry came over and saw King Charles, but equally I think you would agree with me that if the Sussexes came to Sandringham for Christmas – something they wouldn’t wish as far as I know, and I don’t think the Royal Family would either, because they don’t trust them with good reason – I think it would be a rather stressful occasion.”
To this, Akua said honestly, “I don’t think I’d want them round my house to be honest.”
Richard agreed, noting, “Of course, you never know which television company they might talk to about their experiences when they were visiting you.”
Striking the hammer in the head, he added, “This is one of the problems, of course, the King and the rest of the family have.”
