In the middle of December, the USA true crime round-up covers a surge of violent crimes. Actually, they were all unrelated to each other but took place just days apart.

The Mass Shooting At A University

On December 13, 2025, a mass shooting at Brown University drew the most attention from the media. A shooter fired at a first-floor classroom where students were taking their final exams. Sadly, two people were killed at the scene. In addition, eight people were severely injured. Unsurprisingly, the whole Providence campus became full of terror.

After the shooting, police put the university under lockdown. Law officers went from building to building, and room to room looking for the suspect. Meanwhile, administrators canceled all the exams that were left. Apart from that, they gave the rest of the semester off without letting the students know when they would be allowed back.

Briefly, police held a person they thought might be a suspect but let that individual go later. The latest new via ABC is that there is now a person of interest in custody following a tip off to the police.

The Macy’s Stabbing

Violence also hit a very popular shopping area in Manhattan. On December 11, a woman was stabbed in the main Macy’s store at Herald Square. In a press release, law enforcement officers called the attack an unprovoked one. The victim, a mother of three, had come to the city from California. Reportedly, the attack took place in a restroom while she was taking care of her baby. Fortunately, she survived the attack and is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Unfortunately, the situation got out of hand and the suspect attacked Haviolli and struck him. Sadly, he passed away but he had co-morbidities.
