True Crime Updates – New Arrests And Stalled Cases

Latest true crime updates: from the Angelynn Mock arrest to a 1994 cold case break and Bryan Kohberger's restitution order.

True Crime Update on Bryan Kohberger

True crime in November saw some new cases arise, and some disappointing progress on the other hand. The Celeste Rivas Hernandez case seems to have stalled, with doubts that anyone will be charged. But there are a lot of other investigations ongoing. Notably, some of them are tragic. Read on to stay updated.

Older Cases

Missing child Melodee Buzzard still hasn’t been found. With her mom Ashlee’s recent arrest, no new breaks came either. Plus, the arrest didn’t relate to missing Melodee. Rather, she faced the music after allegedly holding a friend against his will. Shocked viewers saw that the court freed her but she will appear again.

Meanwhile, the person who died suspiciously on a cruise ship was identified as Anna Kepler. Just 18, she was soon to sign up to serve in the military. Currently, it’s being investigated by the FBI. But, no other updates have arrived.

Newer Cases

There’s a deeply disturbing story from Wichita, Kansas. Ex-Fox News anchor Angelynn Mock allegedly made Halloween come true by stabbing her 80-year-old mother at the end of October. She’s been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, per The Financial Express. Given her public profile, the incident is especially shocking. Right now, she sits behind bars while the case is being investigated.

Cold true crime cases do sometimes get solved, and a major breakthrough arrived regarding the murder of Tanya Frazier in Seattle. The crime originally took place back in 1994, but thanks to new technology in the forensic field, a 57-year-old man, Mark Anthony Russ, was arrested. The investigation pieced together both old and new evidence, and he was finally taken into custody on November 5.

A tragic accident in Tampa, Florida, on November 8 resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to eleven others. The story is an unfortunately common one, as it involved a driver trying to flee from the police. Unfortunately, the car went out of control, crashed into a bar, and took the lives of innocent people. An unnamed suspect was arrested at the scene.

Update On Bryan Kohberger

Bryan Kohberger, ironically a former criminology Ph.D. student, was sentenced and is currently serving four consecutive life terms for multiple murders. In a new update, he’s been ordered to pay restitution to two of his victims’ families.

While it’s not a large sum of money, it will cover the expenses for the urns for Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves. The other victims were Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin. He’ pleaded guilty back in 2022.

Breaking Crime News

In Washington State, a 15-year-old was arrested after arranging a meeting on SnapChat that turned violent. The situation escalated into a stabbing in Port Orchard. Allegedly, the suspect met two other teens to sell them marijuana and alcohol. A fight broke out when the alcohol didn’t arrive, leading to the stabbing. The teen has been arrested and charged with first-degree assault.

Meanwhile, Fox 13 Seattle also reported that former NBA player Patrick Beverley faces charges of felony assault within a family and other violence in Texas.
