True crime readers seem angry about David Anthony Burke, a singer known as D4vd because the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed the identity of a body found in his abandoned Tesla. The victim is now known to be 15-year-old Celeste Rivas of Lake Elsinore, California. Notably, the musician seems to be toning things down with his merchandise.
A New Update
In a new development reported by TMZ, D4vd removed a controversial “bloody shirt” merchandise item from his official website. On Instagram, the outlet wrote in their caption:
D4vd has removed the bloody shirt merchandise from his website as police continue to investigate the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, whose butchered corpse was discovered in a Tesla registered in his name this month

The question is, did he do that because of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division investigating Celeste’s death?
Other Updates Also Arrived Last Week
Other updates were a tad suspicious for true crime armchair sleuths, and maybe the investigators. While it seems D4vd isn’t being treated as a suspect at this time, things might be leaning that way, crime enthusiasts suspect.

Photos emerged linking the singer D4vd to Celeste Rivas. Per Hindustan Times, pictures show them together in a booth, wearing similar outfits. Another image places D4vd near Rivas’s Lake Elsinore home just before her disappearance.
Both Rivas and D4vd sported a matching “Shh…” tattoo on their right index fingers, which is of interest as evidence. Additionally, the LAPD searched a Hollywood Hills home tied to the artist and seized several electronic devices. Right now, it seems that officials try and trace Rivas’s last movements and get an understanding of her relationship with D4vd.
Identifying Celeste
The discovery of the teen’s body came on September 8, when workers at a tow yard smelled a horrible odor from a Tesla. Horrified, they discovered a badly decomposed body. Later, the body was identified as missing person, Celeste Rivas. Apart from forensic methods, the distinctive tattoo on her finger also helped.
True crime followers started to suspect that the vehicle’s owner, D4vd, must know something. When the body was found, the singer was on tour and reportedly, he cooperates with the cops. But, social media and news comment sections fill up with theories about his connection to the victim.
The recent removal of the “bloody shirt” merchandise only increases public scrutiny. While the item was likely unrelated to the case, it possibly does nothing to help D4vd to keep on selling it, given Celeste’s death.
Reactions To The New Merch Update
On TMZ’s Instagram, commenters rolled in with their opinions. One of them said, “This whole situation is weird and disturbing.”
Other remarks edged on potentially dangerous legal ground with one person asserting, “Imagine he made an exact replica of the shirt he used and now there’s hundreds of people walking around wearing a crime scene… Insane.”
Here’s another person’s comment, “Does he have to release a song titled ‘hey it’s me, I did it!’ And STILL not get arrested???”
The investigation is ongoing. What do you think of this case and the latest merchandise development? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and remember to check back for all your true crime news and updates.
