This Prince William Plan For the Future Reportedly Reduced King Charles To Tears

There’s nothing more beautiful than seeing a parent wholly sharing a passion with their child.

For King Charles, it’s especially significant because, due to his indifferent health condition, the responsibility has been thrust on Prince William to step up and take a bigger chunk of royal duties than would have been required of him.

But most people can attest to the fact that William has capably filled the little void left by his father as he continues to battle cancer, and while William’s got his own plans to move the monarchy forward – projects over patronages, for example – he still has this core belief that reportedly thrills the elderly monarch to no end.

King Charles Reacts To Prince William’s Plans For the Duchy of Cornwall

When Charles became the ruling monarch in 2022, he vacated a position he’s held for several decades and passed it down to his son and heir.

So, in total, Prince William has held the stewardship of the Duchy of Cornwall estate for three years now, and within that time, we’ve seen him push for farming and housing projects in the estate’s impressive acres of land.

In 2019, however, he clearly shared his wishes for the estate whenever it should fall on him. He told Mervyn Keeling, a second-generation farmer, that “I’ve started to think about how I will inherit the Duchy one day and what I will do with it. I think it’s really important, the family angle, I really do.”

Charles’ reaction to William’s wishes for the Duchy of Cornwall was a truly touching one. In his candid reaction, the King said, ““When I saw it, I couldn’t believe it. I was deeply touched and moved by what he said. Frankly, it reduced me to tears…Because, I suddenly thought, well, just hearing that from him has made the last 50 years worthwhile.”

When Charles took over the estate, he worked to honor the values his own father Prince Philip had instilled in him. These values included organic farming and a conscious push for social and environmentally friendly practices.
