If you’ve been tuning in to The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys Season 2 and wondering where the family’s patriarch has gone, you’re not alone.
Steven McBee Sr., the imposing figure at the helm of McBee Farm & Cattle Co. and a central character in Season 1, has been noticeably absent from the latest episodes.
His disappearance hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans—or by the show’s unfolding drama. And now, the mystery has a complicated answer involving heartbreak, betrayal, and a federal investigation.
A Father’s Shadow Looms Over Season 2
In Season 1, Steve Sr. left viewers with a dramatic exit—riding off into the sunset after a devastating multi-million dollar business loss. But his absence in Season 2 has sparked questions. Where did he go? Why is he missing? And is he ever coming back?
Steven McBee Jr. recently addressed the elephant in the room during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
When pressed, Jr. urged viewers to “keep watching Season 2,” hinting that his father’s presence—or at least his story—is far from over. And he wasn’t exaggerating.
Though Steve Sr. hasn’t stepped in front of the camera this season, his name is far from forgotten. In fact, he’s at the center of several key conversations—especially the fallout from his highly publicized breakup with Galyna Saltkovska, the company’s CFO.
The drama intensified when Steve began dating Galyna’s close friend, Masha—turning what was already an emotional breakup into a soap opera-worthy betrayal.
A Legal Storm Behind the Scenes
But the most startling revelation came not from a scripted moment, but in an honest and hushed conversation between Jr. and Galyna.
“My dad is under an FBI investigation,” Steven Jr. confessed. “And you are the only one, and my mom, that even know this is going on, so it has to stay between us.”
That bombshell added a new layer to Sr.’s absence—one that goes far beyond reality TV antics. It was later revealed that Steve McBee Sr. had been under federal investigation for crop insurance fraud.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he pleaded guilty in November 2024 to charges stemming from fraudulent activity that took place between 2018 and 2020. The crime?
Falsifying crop reports to understate production, allowing McBee Farm & Cattle Co. to collect millions in federal insurance payouts.
In a formal statement, prosecutors said McBee’s actions caused “an economic loss to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.” The charges carry serious weight—up to 30 years in federal prison. Sentencing is scheduled for September 2025.
McBee didn’t deny the allegations. In fact, he took full responsibility.
“I entered a plea agreement to address crop insurance issues with farming operations in 2018 through 2020,” McBee Sr. said. “I personally accept responsibility as the buck stops with me.”
Family First, Despite the Fallout
Despite the scandal, the McBee family has remained tight-knit. His sons, especially Steven Jr., have expressed unwavering support.
They’ve stood by their father, recognizing the years of hard work he poured into the farm and the family. Whatever public opinion may be, to them, Steve Sr. is still the man who carried their legacy—even if his actions now threaten it.
As the dust settles, one thing is clear: Season 2 of The McBee Dynasty may be missing its patriarch on screen, but his presence is undeniable. His decisions—both personal and legal—continue to shape the family’s future, and possibly the show’s as well.
Whether Steve Sr. will reappear before the cameras remains to be seen. But in the real world, his next public appearance will be in court.
