The General Hospital Guest Star Who Stole the Show in 2025

General Hospital spoilers tease that all of Port Charles was rocked this year by the death of Monica Quartermaine (the late Leslie Charleson).

Leslie Charleson has passed away months before, so fans knew that it was only a matter of time before Monica passed away as well.

General Hospital took it time creating a fitting storyline for Monica’s passing. The show had the daunting task of not only celebrating Monica’s life, but also the actress who portrayed her for decades.

Monica Quartermaine died in her sleep

Monica died quietly in her sleep after visiting with several of her grandchildren earlier in the day. But Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) had just been shot, so Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) had been asked to give Monica the bad news.

But by the time Jason walked in her room, Monica was already gone. He soon informed Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and then the rest of the family.

A few days later, Monica’s funeral was held. Tracy finally acknowledged that Monica was like a sister to her. But then, a stranger showed up at the Quartermaine crypt.

Ronnie Bard was full of surprises!

Tracy first encountered Ronnie Bard (Erika Slezak) , and the two didn’t like each other right from the start. Tracy wondered why Monica’s long-lost sister was just showing up now after years of no contact.

As it turns out, Ronnie and Monica had been in touch before Monica’s death. But the biggest surprise came when Monica’s will was read. She had left the mansion to Ronnie much to Tracy’s horror.

After several weeks, the truth came out, and Ronnie admitted that she had conspired with Martin Grey (Michael E Knight) to falsify the will. Eventually, the truth came out and Ronnie left town.

Ronnie Bard was a breath of fresh air!

Ronnie’s presence allowed General Hospital to not only memorialize Monica, but the celebrate her life as well. It was a beautiful tribute to Leslie Charleson.

But Ronnie also provided a story that brought all the emotions. Watching Slezak and Elliot on screen together was electric. Hopefully, Port Charles hasn’t seen the last of either Slezak or Ronnie!
