For those who might remember, Hope was never a favorite when it came to the Forrester family, which is probably why Ridge has never fully accepted her as a stepdaughter in his life.

As many can recall, he’s said some horrible things about Hope with Brooke Logan nearby. To make matters worse, Brooke didn’t even defend her own daughter.

However, it seemed like Hope was still close to another important man in her life: Nick Marone. Well, at least from what a lot of viewers can remember. But why was Ridge so horrible in rejecting Hope?

Of course, B&B fans sure did have a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some even commented with, “Ridge was always reluctant to raise her and never wanted to acknowledge her. It was during the rewrite in 2010 that he became close to her. Little Hope showed her preference to Nick.”

What’s Next For Hope?

Another critic of the show wrote, “Nick just so happened to be around during her toddler years and was dating Brooke, so he had the opportunity to get closer to her than Ridge did. But he was never nasty until Steffy came to him begging him to drop Hope.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Both Ridge and Nick had hands in raising Hope as she was growing up (because Deacon wasn’t around that often due to the Forresters hating him at the time).

Her conception was the real scandal because Brooke slept with Bridget’s husband at the time (Deacon) to conceive Hope.”
