‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown’s ‘Stinky Body’ Confession Leaves Robyn Blushing – and Fans Grossed Out

Even after years in front of reality TV cameras, Kody Brown still manages to surprise viewers — and sometimes, even his wife.

On the October 19 episode of Sister Wives, the 56-year-old patriarch revealed his latest attempt to keep things playful with his wife Robyn Brown amid the chaos of their ongoing move.

“We’ve been moving for months now. We haven’t had a romantic getaway, an escape, time together,” Kody confessed during the episode. “And so what’s happened is we’ve become battle buddies, not lovers.”

Apparently, Kody’s solution to the missing spark was… his own scent.

When Robyn, 47, commented on his “very strong” body odor while they were packing boxes, Kody leaned into the moment. “Do you like that? Like the way I smell?” he teased her, grinning as he flexed his arms and joked about “peacocking.”

Later, he explained the curious flirting strategy in his confessional. “I’m just flirting around, having some fun, like making my stinky body something romantic,” he said. Then, with a laugh, he added, “‘Hey, you smell those pheromones? It means you’re digging on me. You like that stinky smell? Is there a stink on me that’s making you go, ‘Ooh, that handsome man?’”

Unfortunately for Kody, Robyn didn’t exactly swoon. She admitted that kind of teasing has never really worked on her. “I’m not actually someone who goes for it,” she said, shaking her head.

The No-Affection Rule That Changed Everything

Robyn later opened up about why public flirting feels awkward for her — and it traces back to a long-standing family rule from their polygamous years.

“There was such a big family culture of no affection with Kody and wives in front of each other,” she explained. “When it came to anything public, I just would shy away from flirting with him.”

That practice, she added, has been hard to unlearn now that Kody is no longer in a plural marriage. In earlier seasons, Robyn admitted she felt that the “no affection” decision — made when Kody was still married to Meri, Christine, and Janelle Brown — had done more harm than good.

“I think it made Kody feel alone, and I think it made each of us wives feel kind of alone,” she previously said. “Affection makes the couple feel kind of safe and secure. And in plural marriage, there’s a lot of insecurity just because there’s so much sharing.”

Her reflection came from a place of hindsight. “It would have made each wife feel more secure and more comfortable if Kody would have been able to show affection or we would have been able to show affection to him,” she said in an earlier season.

Adjusting to Life as Just Two

Now, with Christine, Janelle, and Meri all having left between 2021 and 2023, Robyn finds herself navigating a new reality — monogamy. It’s something both she and Kody are still getting used to.

Robyn told Kody during their moving day conversation, “It’s not that I don’t like” affection. “It’s just I’m not going to give you attention when you’re doing it. I’ll give you attention when you’re not doing it.”

Kody, meanwhile, remains optimistic that time will change things. “I’ve always been comfortable flirting with Robyn,” he shared in a confessional. “I think it’s just going to take time for Robyn to get used to this monogamy thing.”

He even described his dream scenario with a grin: “I want to be walking down the street with her someday, maybe in a shopping mall or something like that, [and] have her just slap my ass. That’s when I know that she’s comfortable with her and I.”

A New Chapter for the Browns

With most of his former wives having moved on, Kody seems determined to rewrite what romance looks like in his marriage to Robyn — even if it means embracing his “stinky smell” as part of the charm.

Whether this new, playful side of Kody will bring back the spark he’s looking for remains to be seen. But one thing’s for sure — in Sister Wives, even a moving day can turn into a reality TV moment worth watching.
