Sister Wives Season 20 premiered on Sunday, and as it coincides with Kody Brown appearing on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, TLC fans have a lot to say about it.
The premiere focused on Robyn Brown and her husband thinking about bringing in a new wife after the OGs all left him. Read on to see how fans are reacting to the show so far.
Robyn & Kody Discuss Another Wife
TLC fans previously heard that Robyn wanted a plural marriage, but they simply don’t believe her. As far as they’re concerned, she spent years trying to sideline Janelle, Christine, and Meri. Anyway, if she finally got what she wanted, she’s not breaking her narrative now.
So, she went back to it in some detail when Kody told her he’d been getting some interested women sliding into his DMs. In the show, she told Kody Brown that she’s been getting some pressure from her family, too.
The Sister Wives star claimed that they ask her about it, citing them as saying, “‘Are you going to live plural marriage again and bring somebody else into the family?’”
In her confessional, Kody’s last remaining wife claimed, “[Monogamy’s] definitely not something I ever would have chosen for myself.” Plus, she blamed the OG3 for them ending up outside of a plural marriage.
Nevertheless, she seems strangely reluctant to commit to another wife now. She said that she would only want another wife if there was a “guarantee that it was going to be OK and it was going to be wonderful and it was going to be what I always dreamed it was supposed to be.”
Fans React To The Episode
On Reddit, many people didn’t believe that Robyn Brown had tons of men lining up to ask for her hand in marriage. She’s said, “Different men at different times said, you know, ‘I’d marry you in a heartbeat.’ … And I was like, ‘Well, I plan to live a plural marriage.'”
So, one Sister Wives critic wrote, “Anyone else find it hard to believe Robyn’s claim that she had all those guys who wanted to marry her before she settled on Kody?”
Others agreed that it seemed unlikely. Someone who knows the timeline well commented, “She is absolutely lying. It doesn’t make logistical sense. She wasn’t divorced for long before meeting Kody, it was like a year. She was married for ten years prior, and got knocked up young. She’s lying absolutely.”
Kody Gets Shredded As Well
Meanwhile, viewers slammed Kody Brown. They hate that he focuses on the possibility of getting another wife when he failed so miserably with his many kids. Since Garrison Brown died, they also saw other kids open up about his disregard for them.
So, a viewer said, “You SHOW UP for them, you LOVE them, and you APOLOGIZE for the sh*t you put them through. And you KEEP trying no matter what.”
That came after he claimed he’d tried everything to mend things and whined about how everything he tries meets with rejection. It’s that kind of thing that makes people hope the rumors are true, and that after Season 20, TLC will really dump the duo.
