On September 10, Prince Harry and King Charles reunited for the first time in over 19 months. If you can recall, the last time the father-son duo met in person was shortly after the King’s cancer diagnosis last year January.
You’d think that after all this time spent apart, the duo would be eager to spend as much hours as possible in each other’s presence. Needless to say, we learned that once again, we were wrong to think so.
The meeting barely lasted an hour, leading many to speculate that it was most likely just greetings, tea, and goodbye. However, we’re now even learning that some photographs of two Montecito-based kids were exchanged. But, according to rumors which Harry promptly denied, the meeting didn’t have any warmness to it.
Prince Harry Denies Reports He Said He Felt Like An “Official Visitor” Following King Charles Visit
Last week, The Sun reported that Prince Harry’s reception at Clarence House was more or less cold and official-like, and not at all like the sort of thing one dishes out to a family member.
In fact, the exact phrase was that the atmosphere felt “distinctly formal” causing Harry to feel more like an “official visitor” than a family member.
Shortly after, a spokesperson for the Duke denied these claims, calling them “pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son.“
In response, the newspaper revealed that they had given Harry “full right of reply yesterday in advance of publication,” in which he “opted not to give a response to the Sun’s carefully sourced account of the meeting.”
As to the report that Harry exchanged a frame of him and his wife with his father, the spokesperson clarified, saying: “While we would have preferred such details to remain private, for the sake of clarity we can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over, however the image did not contain the duke and duchess.”
Harry’s brief visit to his father happened amid his four-day charity run in the UK, which saw him attend various charity events taking place in London and Nottingham.
