Prince Harry’s return to the United Kingdom, viewed as an important moment for his public image, is once again under scrutiny. This time, the visit centers around the annual WellChild Awards, and is viewed as a potential turning point in his career as a philanthropist.

A Make Or Break Visit?

In his Sunday vlog, Daily News Headlines, royal commentator Neil Sean discussed the visit. He claimed that Prince Harry’s return “is a sort of make-or-break visit, not regarding his family, but regarding his whole sort of structure of life.” Sean reminded his followers that that Harry’s charity work seemed uncertain since the Sentebale “debacle.”

During his trip, Prince Harry not only attends  the WellChild Awards but allegedly might visit Nottingham and deliver a donation to Children in Need. For now, it’s  now it’s not clear whether the  donation comes from the Archewell Foundation or if he’s simply handing it over from some other foundation.

However, the BBC’s Children in Need charity which faced its own controversies in the past, might extend Prince Harry a lifeline.

A Regular Patron Position?

According to a “very well-placed source,” Sean revealed that Children in Need would welcome Prince Harry as a regular patron. This potential new role, he suggested, would be an excellent fit for Harry’s current situation, allowing him to travel back and forth to the UK and represent the charity in other parts of the world.

However, the royal family expert also found it interesting that Harry would turn to the BBC, the same network he chose for a May interview in which he made what Sean felt were unpleasant comments about his security and his father’s health. Remember, he claimed that he didn’t know “how long his father had to live.”

Sean also mentioned that the BBC apologized for editorial lapses during that interview. Well, the new information from sources claimed that a potential partnership with Children in Need remains in the early stages.

He added that Harry’s reportedly trying to get back into the charitable sector after the Sentebale issues, and had even considered starting a rival charity. However, as Sean claimed, funds had “not been pouring through,” as people are waiting to see the outcome of the Sentebale fallout.

Sean ended his commentary by highlighting the fact that Harry’s been away from his family in Montecito for a considerable time, without his kids. In fact, he felt that if he would take one of them, perhaps Archie, to the WellChild Awards, it might open more wallets.

Reactions To The New Charity Position Rumors

In the comments section, many people who follow the royal commentator again revisited their opinions on Prince Harry’s charities. One of them wrote, “This visit is all for himself, it has nothing to do with anything but him, he’s just like that woman he married, no heart or love within that heart.”

Here are few other reactions from the discussion area:

  • Sorry but if Children In Need take him on that’s me finished with the charity.
  • I have to side-eye any charity that Harry or Meghan are attached to. I will donate elsewhere.
  • The BBC interview backfired and the public trust in its reporting has very much declined. Using a grifter for their ‘Children in Need’ will be the end of this charity.
