Prince Harry’s return to the UK included a meeting with his father, King Charles, and it brought many talking points. The media seemed hopeful for a good reunion, after years of estrangement. Within hours of the meeting, however, the Duke of Sussex gave an interview to The Guardian, something that commentators viewed as a betrayal of his father’s trust.
Harry Betrays His Father’s Trust?
In his Daily News Headlines vlog on Monday night, royal commentator Neil Sean strongly hinted that Prince Harry “once again betrays his own father, his majesty the king.” Neil described the UK visit as a “big song and dance” for Harry. Additionally, he reminded his viewers that Queen Camilla sat with them when he met King Charles.

Harry later told reporters that “it all went well, thanks,” but Neil believed the meeting was too brief for an emotional reunion. Additionally, Neil noted that Harry’s trip to London had no security issues. And, that contrasted with the highly publicized but “fake sort of security scare in New York City.”
Furthermore, Neil claimed Prince William’s previous alleged belief that “Harry has not changed” proved correct. Within hours of seeing his father, Harry sat down with The Guardian to reveal his plans and air his views. It took place in Kyiv, and Neil believed the meeting with Harry’s dad involved getting permission to travel to Ukraine.
Other Commentators Also Chimed In
Other social commentators, such as Perez Hilton, previously questioned why Prince Harry would make a media appearance so quickly after his meeting with King Charles. Hilton speculated that Harry and his wife, Meghan, acted from a place of financial need, given the high costs of their lifestyle in California.
He suggested the couple tried living like the “Kardashians” which brought a need to generate headlines and, therefore, income. Meanwhile, according to Neil, King Charles allegedly told Harry, “I trust what we’ve talked about will remain private.”
That trust, however, was allegedly broken, much like when Harry met Queen Elizabeth II and then spoke to NBC afterward about their conversation.
Thinly Veiled Attack
Neil viewed Harry’s interview as a “thinly veiled attack” on the King and other royals. Neil explained that Harry’s comments pretty much threw “down the gauntlet,” suggesting he had more to say if he wanted. As a result, Neil claimed, his excellent sources inside the palace reported that King Charles was “left… very disappointed.”
Wrapping it up, Neil Sean’s commentary suggested a scenario involving a calculated visit that ended with King Charles’s trust once again broken. Neil opined that while Harry may have had a clear conscience, as he told The Guardian, his actions confirmed that he “cannot stop speaking to the press.” And, that trait seemingly hinders any true reconciliation.
Royal Family Fans React
Speaking about how King Charles allegedly felt a bit betrayed by Prince Harry some folks wondered why he would be. After all, but now, he should know that his son seems to say and do whatever he wants, regardless of any blowback on his British family. One critic asked, “King Charles, NOW do you believe us???”
Here are a few more reactions from the discussion area:
- Why is KC stunned? Has he not figured out that Harry is out to destroy him? Will someone wake KC up? This is past annoying. It’s disgusting.
- If this doesn’t make the King realize his son is lost to him nothing will.
- Harry is 100% untrustworthy. When will Charles realize this?!!
