The investigation into missing child Melodee Buzzard once again places the conduct of her mother, Ashlee Buzzard, under a magnifying glass. The kid hasn’t been seen for over a month. And, that makes the mother’s recent activities in the street of her Lompoc, California neighborhood even more puzzling.
New Video Footage
On Tuesday evening, News Nation host Ashleigh Banfield showed her audience an exclusive part of a film shot by a neighbor. In it, folks could see Ashlee all polished up. Well, Banfield called it her “latest display of oddball and seemingly cold-blooded behavior.”
The neighbor’s video showed Buzzard “in high heeled boots and sunglasses and her ever-present wig.” Banfield narrated how it showed Melodee’s mom carrying cardboard boxes out of the house to the street. Actually, we previously reported that Ashlee received a delivery of moving boxes.
Banfield emphasized that “it is still several months away from the time when one would expect to be doing spring cleaning,” but no one could figure out what those boxes were for. The anchor said they looked like “they were taped shut” and there were “around 5 of those boxes in total.”
The Boxes Taken Elsewhere
After about a quarter of an hour, the cardboard boxes were taken away, in what seemed to be a gray van. Later, Buzzard came back from somewhere in the same vehicle.
The report prompted questions about the respect of court orders to a great extent. Buzzard, who was let go on a charge of false imprisonment, is obliged to wear an ankle monitor as per the court’s instruction. Banfield said, “I am finding it really difficult to see the ankle monitor on those tight jeans and ankle boots.”
Suspicious & Bizarre Behavior
Sarcastically, Banfield suggested folks could just be “just assuming it was there.” However, while it might be a lack of oversight, it’s hoped that “plainclothes cops or the feds” might be keeping an eye on her.
What happened on the street seems more and more troubling when viewed in connection with previous police intervention. Besides the FBI’s search of the family home, a storage unit located approximately fifteen minutes away from the house was also searched. Perhaps the boxes went there?
If you put it together, the switching plates on a rental when Melodee Buzzard was last seen en route to Utah, plus the taped boxes, and the previous searches, folks might scratch their heads. After all, it hardly seems as if Ashlee Buzzard is all that worried about her missing daughter.
Why No Arrest?
Even more of a head-scratcher is why she hasn’t been arrested as a suspect in any sort of true crime apart from detaining a friend against his will. Allegedly, she told the victim of the detention that she took her child to stay with someone in a safe place.
However, that hasn’t been confirmed. So, some people fear, because her late husband’s family wanted custody of Melodee, that something bad might have happened.

In the comment section of the video, many true crime followers wondered about Ashlee Buzzard’s behavior, and why the police don’t seem to want to make a move on an arrest. After all, she’s been uncooperative and it took a school administrator to report Melodee Buzzard missing in the first place.

That so called “mother” knows exactly where and what has happened to Melodee. I certainly wouldn’t be able to dress up knowing my baby girl is missing, much less be doing any cleaning!! That cow knows, I guarantee she will be arrested for the disappearance and un-aliving of her very own daughter.
