On Friday, August 15, General Hospital star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) took to social media to pay tribute to Tristan Rogers, the Australian actor who played the role of Robert Scorpio. The news of his passing took her back into her memories, where she found a rather delightful anecdote to pass on to her ABC fans
The Tribute By Nancy
Nancy took to her Instagram and shared a screenshot of an old newspaper cutting that showed her with Tristan. It came from Babylon 5, and both of them had recurring roles. In her caption, she wrote:
Tristan and I had recurring characters on Babylon 5 yrs ago. He told me that standing next to me was the only time he wished he was shorter so that he didn’t have to hover over my ginormous head. When the director asked him to look me in the eyes, he said “I’d love to but that head is too distracting.” Suave, wry, smooth, debonair and ridiculously handsome. This GH Aussie Icon left his mark and will be well remembered.

The real-life Alexis Davis also directed her fans to a website, saying, “Sending love to his family, and just donated to https://go2.org/ in dear Tristan’s name. XO.” If you don’t know, the website is part of an organization to help folks with cancer.
The Death Of Tristan
Parade reported that Meryl Soodak, Tristan’s manager, confirmed the passing of the 79-year-old actor. He acted in the role of Robert Scorpio for 45 years! Unfortunately, despite never being a smoker, he ultimately lost his battle against lung cancer.
Plenty of people have already responded on social media, but ABC fans particularly liked Nancy Lee Grahn’s post and the throwback photo. Many GH fans commented on it. One of them said, “Tristan was the ideal secret agent man – handsome, suave, smooth-talking, charming and so smart. He will be greatly missed!”
Other Reactions
As fans last saw him on the show briefly in July, shortly before his cancer was announced, there are plenty of people with memories of Tristan. Here are a few more responses:
- Thank u for sharing that memory! I think all GH fans r collectively mourning with his family & GH family. RIP icon.
- So sorry for the loss of your friend Triston. May he RIP.
- ! This might be my favorite Tristan story ever. Having been one of those pre/teens running home to watch GH, I remember when Tristan and Robert Scorpio first showed up.
- I am so beyond sorry for your loss. He seemed like he was such a great man. He will be deeply missed.
