Meghan Markle’s Paris Fashion Week Walk Sparks ‘Zoolander’ Comparisons

Voted the most surprising appearance at a Paris fashion show by Vogue, Meghan Markle made sure to strut her stuff and blind with her confidence. The Duchess, 44, rocked the show in two outfits and mingled with the likes of former Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

Even so, fans were convinced she fell short for miles. And we’re no longer talking about the oversized white cape that’s been compared to “blankets” and the even more impressive tag, “Zoolander Wrapped in Holy Toilet Paper.”

We’re talking about the walk thick enough to put a fictional supermodel to shame. The reactions are pretty insane at this level, but let’s keep going.

Meghan Markle’s Paris Fashion Show Walk Savaged By Fans

Okay, okay, before we get into this; who is this Zoolander Meg keeps being compared with? Zoolander, for the sake of this exercise, is a fictional supermodel played by Ben Stiller.

The movie, which bears the same name as its main character, is a caricature of a male model’s life, from dumbness, to makeup, and the male model catwalk, which, thanks to Stiller and Owen Wilson, was actually something worth watching.

However, fans weren’t thrilled Meghan tried to re-enact it in the name of Balenciaga. See, whilst it was Meghan’s first Paris fashion show, it wasn’t the former actress’s first time at a fashion show.

Prior to meeting Harry, she had attended New York and Toronto fashion shows, even though those ones saw her mingling with Z-list celebrities than exchanging kisses with the lead designer.

Keeping up with her influencer-type posts since she returned to Instagram earlier this year, Meghan shared a video of her strut in her £745 Balenciaga ‘Knife’ heels as she exited the £2,210-per-night Plaza Athénée hotel.

“Meghan Markle trying to give Zoolander a run for his supermodel walk,” one fan commented on the clip.

“Meghan, you’re not a model, they’re simply just walking you to your seat! Meghan walking with her cape like she’s the second coming of the Messiah,” another blasted.

Referencing Meghan’s pr team’s efforts to brand her latest outing as her return “to fashion shows in over a decade,” a fan wrote, “This marks her first time back to the shows in over a decade? What a load of rubbish! She has never been to Paris fashion week!”
