Meghan Markle Reportedly Had Total Control Of Disastrous Harper’s Bazaar Feature

Meghan Markle made waves for her Harper’s Bazaar cover, not because of any spectacular pictures or wise and insightful words, but merely because she opted to have a butler introduce her as “the Duchess of Sussex” to an almost empty room.

The comical nature of this was so astounding many questioned why it was written into the feature in the first place. Turns out it was because she willed it. According to multiple sources, she had total control on the story’s angle and delivery.

She might have curated what the magazine wrote about her, what she couldn’t control, however, was the public’s perception. And well, it was not a good look that a retired member of the Royal Family would go around wearing her title on her sleeves.

Meghan Markle Controlled Every Stage of Harper Bazaar’s Cover Story: “Utter Madness”

Meghan Markle’s cover story should have been something that would introduce fans to the woman she is, five years after leaving the Royal Family.

Instead, a single act overshadowed most of her efforts. And now we’re hearing that she had total control on the words Harper’s Bazaar wrote about her on their 2025/2026 piece.

One senior editor source claimed: “When Meghan wants control, she says, here’s the angle, here’s the story, here’s how I must appear. She thinks she has the right to hand out PR briefings to the world’s most seasoned journalistic professionals – and it is utter madness.”

Another added: “The running joke in the industry now is that Harper’s should have credited her as ‘guest editor, subject and muse’ as her profile piece is so gushing. At a certain point when reading their ‘interview’ piece, you start asking, ‘Who really wrote this s—?’”

“And the answer, it seems, is Meghan. The piece is so stomach-churningly sycophantic to Markle it appears to have her handprints over every line. It seems it was written, then handed to her for an edit.”

Touching on the story itself, the source opined that it was all contrived nonsense with little depth. “It is trite nonsense with zero insight, wit, or even anything based in reality,” they blasted.
