Prince Harry and Meghan Markle willingly decided to leave the Royal Family behind to become private citizens in America.
At the time, their exit cost them more than a few privileges that they once enjoyed as members of the Royal Family, including their IPP status and of course the HRH styling.
Not to say that they lost everything, since their royal titles – the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – remained intact.
But, we’re now hearing stories that Meghan Markle never relinquished her HRH styling like they promised the then-Queen Elizabeth they would. Turns out the HRH styling in the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko’s letter was not her first rodeo.
Following the controversy that came about because she shared a letter that styled her as such on Instagram, the Duchess has seemingly decided to poke the bear once more.
She hopped on Jamie Kern Lima’s podcast and shared the image of a gift basket she was sending a friend, and what did the little note on it read? – “With Compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex.”
This blatantly goes against the official statement released on the Royal website, which reads, “The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family.”
It’s clear Meghan, at this point, is just looking to stay relevant by continuing to ride on the coattails of her royal in-laws – the same ones she trashed and disregarded for years. Since there’s nothing new to accuse them off – come on, it’s been five years already – stirring the pot a little from time to time seems to bode her well.
And perhaps it does. They say no publicity is bad publicity, and this one was done in the spirit of selling jams, so why make a fuss?
The icing on the cake, though, remains the new revelation that Meghan has been using this styling privately for years since they moved stateside in private letters, gifts and invitations.
A source revealed it came from Meghan’s need to stay and feel “relevant.”
As expected, fans are calling for their titles to be stripped once more. If this agreeable scenario does take place and they still decide to keep using it even after that, then we can rest assured say that you can take Harry and Meghan out of the Monarchy, but you can’t take the Monarchy out of Harry and Meghan.
