‘McBee Dynasty’ Renewed for Season 3 — Cameras Roll as Steven McBee Faces Fraud SentencingThe McBee family is saddling up for another ride. Bravo has officially renewed The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys for a third season, confirming that one of television’s most talked-about modern ranching families will return to screens soon.

The news, first reported by Variety, landed on October 15—just over a month after the conclusion of season 2 and more than two years since the series first premiered in March 2024.

But behind the announcement lies a storyline no reality producer could have scripted: the legal troubles surrounding the family’s patriarch, Steven McBee Sr.

A Family’s Battle for Legacy

For viewers, The McBee Dynasty has always been more than a reality show. It’s a portrait of an American ranching family trying to save their farm and cattle operation from financial collapse.

Over its first two seasons, fans watched brothers Steven McBee Jr., Cole McBee, Jesse McBee, and other family members—Kacie Adkison, Alli Ventresca, Calah Jackson, Galyna Saltkovska, Kristi McBee, and Brayden McBee—navigate personal relationships and business rivalries while fighting to keep their land alive.

The show originally debuted on Peacock before moving to Bravo for its second season, a shift that expanded its reach and gave audiences a closer look at the complexities of family, money, and loyalty.

By the time the second season wrapped, it had become one of Bravo’s most unconventional family sagas.

The Shadow Over McBee Sr.

Yet, the excitement around the renewal comes as 52-year-old Steven McBee Sr. faces the most serious chapter of his real life so far.

The Missouri farmer, who owns McBee Farming Operations in Gallatin, awaits sentencing in a federal crop insurance fraud case—a scandal that has cast a shadow over the show’s otherwise triumphant narrative.

According to court documents, prosecutors have asked U.S. District Court Judge Stephen R. Bough to sentence McBee Sr. to 41 months in prison.

The recommendation includes “three years’ supervised release, a mandatory restitution order of $4,022,124, a forfeiture money judgment, and an order imposing the mandatory $100 special assessment.”

His sentencing—set for October 16 after several postponements—will mark a significant moment for the family and for fans who’ve followed their journey.

The Department of Justice detailed in a November 2024 press release that McBee Sr. pleaded guilty to a fraud scheme involving the receipt of federal crop insurance benefits he wasn’t entitled to.

The DOJ stated his plea admitted that between 2018 and 2020, he “engaged in fraudulent activity … that caused an economic loss to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.”

Investigators found that McBee filed false reports to Rain and Hail, a company reinsured by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation. Those reports allegedly underreported his 2018 corn yield by roughly 674,812 bushels and his soybean yield by about 155,833 bushels.

The false numbers allowed him to receive more than $3.1 million in unauthorized benefits and subsidies—causing what the government calculated as $4,022,123 in total loss.

The Family’s Silence and Hope

While McBee Sr. made a brief appearance in the August 11 episode of The McBee Dynasty’s second season, his participation was noticeably limited.

His eldest son, Steven McBee Jr., 32, explained the family’s choice to keep him away from the public eye while the legal process unfolds.

“Our dad, it’s no secret, he’s going through the FBI investigation,” Steven Jr. told PEOPLE in July. “Just out of how delicate that situation is, it’s still ongoing and we’re hoping to have it wrapped up here before the end of the year, but just wanted to keep him out of any sort of public eye or anything, just until that situation is resolved. Just to protect him and protect our family.”

Despite the uncertainty, the family remains tight-knit—bound not only by blood but by the enormous weight of the empire they’re fighting to preserve. Viewers have seen them clash, reconcile, and rebuild, all under the glare of reality-TV cameras.

What’s Next for Season 3?

Bravo hasn’t confirmed which members of the McBee family will return for the new season, but expectations are already high.

The network teased that the show will continue chronicling the family’s efforts to “rescue their farm and cattle ranch from financial ruin,” suggesting season 3 will pick up where the previous one left off—at the crossroads of resilience and reinvention.

For fans, The McBee Dynasty has become more than a look at life on a Missouri ranch—it’s a modern Western drama, where every harvest, handshake, and heartbreak unfolds under national scrutiny.

And as the McBees prepare for another chapter on television, one thing is clear: their family story, as messy and compelling as it is, isn’t finished yet.
