On Thursday, September 18, the Princess of Wales and the US First Lady Melania Trump will unite for a rare joint outing. The reason the outing is making the rounds in the media and internet right now is that it will feature two very powerful ladies from two of the most popular countries in the world.
No doubt the outing will likely boost US-UK relations.
What Will Kate Middleton and Melania Trump’s Public Engagement Be About?
As the UK prepares to host a state visit from the President of the United States, all attention has been arrested by the proposed joint engagement of the Princess of Wales and Melania Trump.
Per a statement released by Buckingham Palace, the two powerful women will team up for a youth-focused event.
This will take place on the third day of their visit, with Kate and Melania heading to Frogmore gardens in Windsor for a hands-on, outdoor engagement with young Scouts.
They will be joined by U.K. Chief Scout Dwayne Fields and members of the Scouts’ Squirrels program.
During the engagement, they will get to watch children receive their “Go Wild” badge after performing a series of nature-based activities.
This is right up the Princess of Wales’ alley, since she has been big on highlighting the importance of sporting activities and the advantages of the natural world.
“She would say, ‘During my recovery, I spent a lot of time in the outdoors because that’s where I felt at peace.’ Or ‘myself and the family come out to the Lakes as often as we can,’” the Chief Scout said, referencing her 2024 cancer treatment, which she confirmed this January that she’s entered the remission stage.
The itinerary for Donald and Melania Trump’s visit was confirmed by Buckingham Palace on September 10, where they outlined a three-day visit set to begin on September 16 and conclude on September 18. The President and his wife are expected to arrive on the evening of September 16.
They will be welcomed officially to the UK the next day by the Prince and Princess of Wales, with their visit culminating in a grand state banquet held at Windsor Castle on the evening of September 18.
