Kristina Joksimovic was murdered in 2024, and her story reappeared in the news late last week because her husband was arrested and charged with the crime. Caution: This article contains some very grisly details.

Husband Charged

The New York Post and other major outlets covered the new update of the true crime that involved former Miss Switzerland finalist, (38). Known only as Tomas, because of privacy laws in the country, the 43-year-old husband allegedly went to great lengths to dispose of Kristina’s body. Sadly for her dad, he discovered the remains of his daughter and it wasn’t a pretty sight.

Apparently, the details, which the prosecution alleges, came out of a nightmare. In fact, hold onto your breakfast, or browse some of our other true crime stories if you have a sensitive stomach. Many sources described her dismemberment and worse, while her husband calmly watched “YouTube” videos. No, we don’t know what he watched, but perhaps it was kitchen hacks?

The Details

The news of the charges came via the Basel-Landschaft Public Prosecutor’s Office after a long investigation that involved forensic work. Initially, Thomas denied any intent, claiming that Kristina Joksimovic attacked him with a knife. However, somehow science was able to prove that she probably died from being strangled.

Last caution: The details of the crime that emerged were horrifying. Allegedly, Thomas strangled his wife, then cut her up into pieces. It all went down in their Binningen home. After that, in an attempt to hide the evidence, the husband, described by the courts as “lacking empathy,” cut off her head, broke a number of bones, and cut out her uterus.

If that wasn’t enough, he then used a food blender to “puree” bits and pieces of Kristina’s flesh. Finally, some chemicals were used to try and basically dissolve her. Part of the evidence involves some skin and bits of bone still in the industrial blender.

When The New York Post shared the update about the former beauty, their Instagram post came with a caption:

The sicko accused of decapitating his Miss Switzerland finalist wife, cutting out her womb and pureeing her body parts in a blender while watching YouTube videos has been formally charged with her murder, Swiss officials announced.

Well, as you can imagine, that wasn’t the news that many people welcomed in their feed. One person responded by writing, “That’s enough Internet for me today.”

Here are a few more responses from the discussion that followed:

  • Am I having a nightmare or is it true ???
  • That is the most disturbing thing i have ever heard in my life.
  • Swiss judicial system is good, but very SAD to see humans behave like this!!!
  • This makes Hannibal Lecter seem downright wholesome in comparison.
  • I live in Zurich; he was trialed this week ONLY. So the event happened years ago but the trial was this week.
  • omg, how disturbing, death penalty

Well, as for the death penalty, the Swiss government doesn’t allow that. In fact, it’s forbidden by constitutional rules. So, while citizens all have a right to life, Thomas, if guilty, won’t die at the hands of a penal system.
