What in the world of true crime is going on with women stabbing their elderly mothers? A recent arrest involved a former Fox News anchor Angelynn Mock who was arrested at the end of October. She was charged with first-degree murder for the alleged stabbing of her 80-year-old mother. And now, a similar offense resulted in another arrest. Read on for more details.
The Stabbing Of Mom
This time, the stabbing which was reported by ABC7 News, took place in Northern Virginia. The outlet noted that the suspect is aged 31, and named Helena Little, hailing from Herndon. Helena “faces a charge of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Norma Little, 79.”
Apparently, the cops heard about the victim when a caretaker arrived at the place where Norma stays. To her shock, Norma was “unresponsive.” Nobody could help the old woman because she had multiple stab wounds. So, EMTs ruled her dead at the site.
Cameras Helped The Cops
These days, the police have a lot more true crime tools at their disposal than they used to. So, the report talked about how investigators checked “surveillance video.” Additionally, questioning people in the area and other investigative work, placed Helena Little in the frame as a suspect.
Citing the police, the outlet noted;
Police arrested Helena Little around 3 p.m. on Thursday in the 1800 block of Metro Center Drive in Reston. She was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where she is being held without bond.
More Information Requested
Maybe the police don’t have every single piece of evidence they need for a conviction. That’s because while victim impact folks help the family, more information won’t go unnoticed.
Anyone with something that might be useful can report it to the “Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800.” Alternatively, they can submit an anonymous tip, “through Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (866-411-8477) or online.”
Mobility Issues
Notably, four years ago, another woman named Anne Harmon killed her 73-year-old mother in Virginia as well. The latest case of stabbing was shared on YouTube by Washington DC Today. And, their report confirmed that Norma had mobility issues.
Allegedly, the apartment had been heavily scented. But, the place was in a shambles. Meanwhile, neighbours described Helena Little as rather reclusive.
Police arrested Helena and at the moment, she sits behind bars with no bond. The incident that happened on Tuesday revealed there was also “blunt force trauma.” After she last left the home, where Norma stayed, Helena carried “a backpack” and was accompanied by “the family dog.”
