Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are selling a chance at dinner with their venerable selves to the highest bidders, according to new reports.
For $100,000, you get to be treated to dinner with the Sussexes. You can even get to feel you’re doing a grand thing while you’re at it because the proceeds from said dinner will go towards supporting many of their charitable endeavors.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Offer A Royal Dinner For $100,000
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are willing to offer you a seat at their table, if you’ve got $100k to spare.
This is coming after the Daily Mail reported that donations for Archewell Foundation, now Archewell Philanthropies, plunged deeply this fiscal year.
This led to the cutting of three of the charity’s staff members, including director of programs and operations, Kristin Slevin, who is said to have been earning a salary upwards of $140,000.
According to the Mirror, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are using the company CharityBuzz to spread the word of their latest offer to the right people.
Since CharityBuzz’s launch 20 years, it has gone on to help high profile figures like George Clooney, Beyoncé and Sir Paul McCartney, raise millions of dollars for their charity.
Current offers are said to involve dinner with Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk for $10,000 (£7,500), as well as platinum Grammy awards tickets for $50,000 (£37,000).
It’s also understood that Harry and Meghan opted not to have this little scheme advertised on the official website, but rather implored the company to reach out to their list of contacts on the low.
One CharityBuzz source reportedly said, “People will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to have dinner with them.”
On Dec. 18, a spokesperson for Archewell confirmed to the Mail that “We have partnered with numerous fundraising partners over the years and CharityBuzz has been one of them.”
Of course this goes without saying that were Harry and Meghan still working royals, they would not have been permitted to make such an offer.
The spokesperson added, “Yes, we are making some Archewell changes, and we’ll be sharing exciting developments regarding how we will deliver our philanthropic work moving forward, when we choose to. We look forward to communicating more in due course.”
